Lenticular Cloud (a Touhou LW original) refers to a lens or saucer-shaped cloud formed by moist air flowing up a mountain. This is an apt temperament for a youkai monk who hid away from the world. Byakuren is endowed with Fire Phase, with her passion in preaching for human-youkai equality, and Sun Essence, as she respects the dharma. The formless and passionate Fire Phase resists Wood Phase, because wood feeds fire, but it is weak to Water Phase, because water dampens fire. The alluring and arrogant Sun Essence resists the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence, but it is weak to the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence.

The ability of Byakuren Hijiri from the world with a mysterious flying treasure ship. It is thought to be fundamentally the same as our version of Byakuren's ability. The youkai monk, Byakuren Hijiri, has long been sealed away in an area of Makai called Hokkai (also known as dharmadhatu or the realm of truth). After her seal was removed, she was supposed to set up Myouren Temple near the Human Village in Gensokyo, but this Byakuren hasn't done that yet. Our Byakuren was not initially hostile toward Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, and Sanae Kochiya, who helped bring her back. In fact, she was friendly and grateful that they broke the seal that bound her. However, when she spoke to them, she realized that humans are still as foolish as ever and her attitude changed to exasperated fury. Byakuren's memories are haunted by humans who detest and exterminate youkai out of fear, so seeing that they are still the same awoke a feeling of anger and terror within her. Her fury is eventually quelled, and she has a change of heart after her battle of bullets with Reimu and the others... But it seems this has not yet happened to the Byakuren of this world, as she is still continuing her long, drawn-out fight. There are many mysteries surrounding what kind of state Byakuren was in when she was sealed away. However, the Byakuren of this world seems to have lived a decent enough life in the remote region of Makai, even though she was sealed there. Hokkai is a place shrouded in dense miasma and is said to be a rural region of Makai. But that did not stop her from setting up a home and continuing her training while waiting for the day when she would eventually be free. It is quite likely that some denizens of Makai and the Makai god participated in her training. This was when she created her Sorcerer's Sutra Scroll magic item, and it can be assumed that Byakuren's body was slowly and steadily replaced with materials from Makai. She truly is a great magician.
