Character Information

Temperament: Raimei

Raimei (a Touhou LW original) refers to lightning and the sound it makes. This is an apt temperament for Larva, who has gotten too close to becoming a god. Larva's temperament has also lost its true form. Larva has a distinct advantage over spring, whose end is heralded by summer (strong against Wood Phase). However, as an immortal being with no boundaries, she struggles to deal with "doyou," the 18 days prior to the next season, which creates boundaries (weak to Earth Phase).

Ability/Backstory: Capable of scattering scales (Prolonged)

The ability of Eternity Larva from the world where the four seasons are in total disarray (a Touhou LW original). It doesn't appear to be significantly different from Larva's original ability. A suspect has been found for the incident's prolonging. The incident in question is one where the four seasons of Gensokyo are occurring simultaneously. It became the 16th prolonged incident, and as it continued, it plunged Gensokyo into total chaos. The person thought to be responsible is none other than Eternity Larva, who possesses both an air of divinity and the infinite potential of a fairy. Typically, fairies are neither strong nor wise and rarely take anything seriously. However, the original instigator of the Four Seasons Incident, Okina Matara, observed on multiple occasions (in the incident's original timeline) that there's more to fairies than meets the eye. While fairies are often thought of as merely "supporting characters," she saw a handful of them transform into protagonists. One of those fairies was Eternity Larva. That's right, in the original timeline, Eternity Larva worked to resolve an incident... or so the reliable records suggest. However, precious little is known about fairies, so perhaps one of them could be behind the prolonging of an incident, too. For instance, why do they recover so quickly after falling in battle? It seems that in this world, that mystery is explained as them only needing a short time to re-gather temperament. Even if their temperament is scattered, as the embodiments of nature, it soon gathers around them, allowing them to be reborn. What's more, their memories are preserved in their temperament composition, so when they come back to life, their memories are all intact. There are fairies with adult bodies? ...No, that can't be right. Fairies are supposed to remain forever young. Nature only changes gradually over time, and the same should be true for fairies. In other words, even if fairies look mature, their minds aren't. Furthermore, there must be a clear reason for the diversity of their appearances. It's thought that in Eternity Larva's case, something may have gone wrong when she revived after her period of rest. She seems to have absorbed some temperament similar to her own that happened to be nearby before reviving. It may have been the temperament of a divine spirit, an animal spirit... or even of a human spirit. (All souls are made of temperament.) In any case, the result was that Eternity Larva powered up in a rather crude fashion. Perhaps in her current state, she really is capable of prolonging the incident. It seems further investigation is warranted.

Attacks

Larva of Life

The Spread Shot of Eternity Larva from the world where the four seasons are in total disarray (a Touhou LW original). An eternal larva that has gotten too close to becoming a god attacks. Fairies are eternally young. The reason for that is that nature itself is constantly being reborn. Mother Nature produces offspring, raises them, ages, and fades away, all while remaining forever young.

Imago of Death

The Focus Shot of Eternity Larva from the world where the four seasons are in total disarray (a Touhou LW original). An eternal imago that has gotten too close to becoming a god attacks. With the existence of fairies in Hell, it's clear that death and rebirth are a part of nature. All things are in a state of flux, as is existence itself. This unending process of change requires energy, without which everything would stagnate. Just as with the far side of the moon and people of Hourai, without death, there is no life. Death is salvation.

Butterfly Sign: Swallowtail's Scales

A Spell Card of Eternity Larva from the world where the four seasons are in total disarray. She spreads swallowtail butterfly scales in this attack. Swallowtail butterflies love eating the leaves of tachibana trees―evergreen fruit trees that exude fragrance throughout the year and are considered symbols of immortality. It's thought that the Japanese term "tokijiku no kagu no konomi" (roughly "fruit of immortality") refers to tachibana oranges, and it's said that Tajimamori, who was sent to Tokoyo no Kuni, an ideal land beyond the sea, brought tachibana oranges back from his journey.

Butterfly Sign: Midsummer Wingbeats

A Spell Card of Eternity Larva from the world where the four seasons are in total disarray. She flaps her wings leisurely in the summer sky. Swallowtail butterfly larvae resemble silkworms, and it is possible that they were seen as a kind of dichotomy. Silkworms produce silk thread as they pupate, giving them a fleeting productivity window. In contrast, what swallowtail butterfly larvae lack in productivity, they make up for with the promise of a future where they will flutter beautifully through the sky. It's said that the production of silk was once overseen by Hata no Kawakatsu.

"Worship Me and I'll Provide an Eternal Season"

The Last Word of Eternity Larva from the world where the four seasons are in total disarray (a Touhou LW original). A new god sets out to build a new world in this attack. In Japanese, Eternity Larva refers to herself as "yo," a term that's said to have been first used during the Heian era. From this, it's clear that the consciousness inhabiting her favors new things. However, that doesn't mean she gets swept up in trends. As in the Japanese saying "learn from the old to understand the new," she intends to create a new world based on knowledge of what already exists. "Eternal Night Worship" is a new religion that was also conceived of in that way. While those in power stand idle, the people continue to suffer. The consciousness within Eternity Larva simply wants to deliver the people happiness in the present, not the distant future.
