Aurora (a Touhou LW original) refers to a natural light display that can be seen in the sky near the north and south poles. This is an apt temperament for Flandre, who has peculiar wings that shine with all the colors of the rainbow. In this world, Patchouli used her magic to extract Flandre's many attributes to counteract her weaknesses. The defining attribute of vampires is blood, formed by the elemental combination of Fire Phase (body heat) and Water Phase (liquid). And the basement where she was confined is made from a combination of Earth Phase (underground) and Metal Phase (under lock and key). The formless and passionate Fire Phase resists Wood Phase, because wood feeds fire, but it is weak to Water Phase, because water dampens fire. The encompassing and regenerative Earth Phase resists Fire Phase, because fire produces earth, but it is weak to Wood Phase, because wood parts earth. The cold and silent Metal Phase resists Earth Phase, because earth bears metal, but it is weak to Fire Phase, because fire refines metal. The flexible and patient Water Phase resists Metal Phase, because metal collects water, but it is weak to Earth Phase, because earth directs water. The combination of Fire Phase and Earth Phase cancels out any resistance or weakness to Wood Phase. The combination of Earth Phase and Metal Phase cancels out any resistance or weakness to Fire Phase. And the combination of Metal Phase and Water Phase cancels out any resistance or weakness to Earth Phase. Flandre is also endowed with Star Essence due to her unique personality during her long stay in isolation. The diverse and uncooperative Star Essence resists the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence, but it is weak to the charming and arrogant Sun Essence.
The ability of Flandre Scarlet from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). It is essentially the same as our version of Flandre's ability. But isn't Flandre supposed to stay hidden during the Scarlet Mist Incident...? Regardless, it seems this Flandre hoped her sister's incident would bring about an unprecedented change that would finally end her 495 years of tedium. Her anticipation started building when they moved along with their house to this new place called Gensokyo, and it kept building until she could no longer contain herself. There is a lack of supporting evidence for this theory, but perhaps Flandre's ability to destroy derives from an ability to manipulate fate. She moves an "eye" to her hand, then destroys it... It's like she enforces a fate of destruction. If this is true, it would mean that Flandre intuitively sees the fate of things around her. So perhaps she knew the actions and intentions of everyone since the Vampire Incident. She might have known that the purple youkai would present her with a super fun toy in the near future.
The Spread Shot of Flandre Scarlet from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). She prepares for a card game in this attack. Flandre must know countless ways to pass the time, considering how long she's been confined to her room. She's probably gotten very good at shuffling cards by now. "OK, I'm going to deal them out... Oh, right. You can't play poker alone."
The Focus Shot of Flandre Scarlet from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). She begins her proof. Flandre is often misunderstood or thought to be mentally unstable, but perhaps her way of thinking is just different from the rest of us. If that's true, she might be able to use her unique perspective to perceive unpredictable truths. Like the gatekeeper's true identity...
A Spell Card of Flandre Scarlet from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. She finishes a card game in this attack. You can't play poker alone, but that's easily solved by becoming four people. It's not known whether Flandre actually clones herself for this purpose, but it would certainly let her play plenty of games. However, cloning herself in this way also makes her four times as destructive. The details of how exactly she clones herself are a mystery, but the fact that her identical selves can exist in different locations simultaneously suggests that she has some kind of ability to manipulate spacetime...
A Spell Card of Flandre Scarlet from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. She ends her proof. Regardless of what Flandre was trying to prove, her arguments are always backed up by a destructive power that seems to transcend all understanding. Her ability lets her move the "eye" of something into her hand and then destroy it. These "eyes" exist in all things. This sounds similar to mapping or transformation in a mathematical sense. It would be quite incredible if Flandre could intuitively sense a transformed world.
The Last Word of Flandre Scarlet from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). She unleashes the power she gathered during her long isolation. Her bullets are targeted at everything above her room in the basement where she was confined... In other words, the rest of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The mansion can be rebuilt, but it would not be a pleasant experience for anyone caught in this attack. This attack is the culmination of her pent-up frustration at not being let outside, her grudge toward her sister for not letting her participate in the Scarlet Mist Incident, and much more besides. But she mainly created this attack because she desperately wanted to play outside! Isn't Flandre supposed to wait until the incident is over before leaving her room...?
She probably came from quite a noble family in Europe, but any records that might prove this have been destroyed.
Flandre is destruction incarnate... That sounds a bit too powerful.
