Character Information
Temperament: Sekka
Sekka (a Touhou LW original) refers to snow that falls like petals. This is an apt temperament for Yuyuko, who has a close affinity with both snow and cherry blossoms. Yuyuko is endowed with Water Phase, the element of spirits, and Moon Essence, as she is more than meets the eye. The flexible and patient Water Phase resists Metal Phase, because metal collects water, but it is weak to Earth Phase, because earth directs water. The cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence resists the alluring and arrogant Sun Essence, but it is weak to the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence.
Ability/Backstory: Mainly capable of manipulating death
The ability of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). It is essentially the same as our version of Yuyuko's ability. As of yet, there aren't any reliable records of Yuyuko Saigyouji doing anything of significance around the time of the Scarlet Mist Incident. The following is speculation based on unverified reports, but it is hoped that this will lead to greater discoveries. This world's Yuyuko speaks as if she had pre-arranged her incident with Yukari. The prolonging of the Scarlet Mist Incident seems to have delayed Yuyuko's plans for her Spring Snow Incident. However, this begs the question of how incidents are actually caused and why they all seem to follow certain rules. And if the Bill for the Naming of Duels really does have this much influence, why is that the case, and how is it enforced? All that is known for sure is that incidents and their resolutions are vital for the continued existence of Gensokyo. It would be interesting to discover how much Yuyuko knows about Yukari Yakumo's involvement with the incidents. On a separate note, this world's Yuyuko seems to have instilled a sense of terror in Youmu with an incredibly scary story. Youmu has always been easily influenced, and this world's Youmu is no exception. But it's not as if Yuyuko lied, as their Scarlet Devil Mansion is truly a dangerous place. As a result, Yuyuko decided it would be easier for her to investigate the prolonged incident by herself. However, despite her obvious fear, Youmu insisted that she must go to the land of the living to stop the scarlet mist that threatened the Netherworld. Her voice trembled as she promised that if she found any spooks or monsters, she would try to exterminate them... Hearing this, Yuyuko regretted telling Youmu the scary story and resolved to be more careful in the future. Courage is a greater weapon than any sword and a more steadfast defense than any shield.

There's supposed to be a strong connection between butterflies and the dead, so the Netherworld is surely full of fluttering butterflies. Incidentally, wasn't there a butterfly fairy somewhere?

Supposedly, Yuyuko's ability can instantly snuff out someone's life as long as they don't have any special protection against it. While this sounds incredibly powerful and scary, there don't seem to be any records of her explicitly using it... Yuyuko can seem a little air-headed at times, but she has the good sense not to use this ability carelessly.

Nether Sign: Late and Early Endless Evening Cherry Blossoms
A Spell Card of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). She displays the cherry blossoms that bloom in the Netherworld. Presumably, this Spell Card will later become "Nether Sign: Endless Evening Cherry Blossoms." It's said that the cherry blossoms in the Netherworld are actually phantoms. The mist that seeped into the Netherworld from the land of the living was magical, so it probably affected the phantoms somehow. Is Yuyuko aware of this?

Presumably, this Spell Card will later become "Resurrection Butterfly -80% Reflowering-." In most worlds, Yuyuko would have already started an incident of her own to try and lift the seal on the Saigyou Ayakashi. Due to the nature of her wish, it cannot possibly come true, but she doesn't seem to know why.

The Last Word of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). This is the attack that will presumably blossom into her Overdrive. The color of a plant's flowers is determined by the type of temperament absorbed through its roots. The Netherworld's cherry blossoms would have turned red if the scarlet mist was pure scarlet temperament. However, when spring came around, Yuyuko found that the flowers were a fainter pink than usual, even though Yukari said the mist was created by a vampire with "Scarlet" in her name. This discrepancy led Yuyuko to question whether this incident was truly proceeding as Yukari planned...
