Character Information

Temperament: Sakura Ame

Sakura Ame (a Touhou LW original) refers to rain that falls around the time when the cherry blossoms bloom. This is an apt temperament for Marisa, who dearly misses spring. Marisa is endowed with Water Phase, because of her affinity with rain, and Star Essence, since she likes the stars. The flexible and patient Water Phase resists Metal Phase, because metal collects water, but it is weak to Earth Phase, because earth directs water. The diverse and uncooperative Star Essence resists the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence, but it is weak to the charming and arrogant Sun Essence.

Ability/Backstory: Mainly capable of using magic

The ability of Marisa Kirisame from the world with a never-ending winter (a Touhou LW original). It is essentially the same as our version of Marisa's ability. However, despite having this ability, this world's Marisa is yet to resolve the Spring Snow Incident. When will that Saigyouji lady stop gathering spring? Marisa thought for sure that she had to resolve the incident before time ran out. However, no matter how many times Marisa failed, there weren't any signs that the incident would ever reach its completion. Winter just got more wintery, the snow fell faster and heavier, and the temperature continued to drop. But now, the weather is deteriorating at an exponentially decreasing rate. Marisa easily deduced that it was infinitely approaching a limit it would never reach and thus concluded that she might be able to take her time investigating this incident. Perhaps there is a world where Marisa investigated the incident by meeting up with Alice or by studying inside, away from the cold snow. Marisa's Magic Sign loadout includes star-themed bombs and two types of missiles that explode upon impact. This loadout appears to focus on straight-up firepower, but she also needs finesse to make the most of her star-themed Spell Cards. Marisa has been thinking that she might need bombs that are easier to use in the battle against Yuyuko. But there's only one way to see if other items would be more effective, and that's to try them for real. Then again, perhaps using items she's used to is still her best bet...

Attacks

Magic Missile (Cherry Blossom)

The Spread Shot of Marisa Kirisame from the world with a never-ending winter. In true magician fashion, she attacks her enemies with magic missiles. Perhaps some people might be surprised to see a magician firing missiles, but there couldn't be anything more normal for those in the know. Apparently, magic missiles are loved by novice and veteran magicians alike. It isn't known why Marisa decided to use this type of magic, but it definitely distinguishes her from the other magicians in Gensokyo.

Magic Napalm (Cherry Blossom)

The Focus Shot of Marisa Kirisame from the world with a never-ending winter. In true magician fashion, she attacks her enemies with other magic incendiaries. This isn't really the place to describe what napalm is, but this attack shows that there are truly all sorts of magic items. If there was ever an academic course for magic, magical engineering would surely be a big part of it. As a human magician, Marisa's philosophy on magic places great emphasis on real-world applications, and the use of magic items is perfectly in line with these beliefs.

Experimental Blazing Star

The Last Word of Marisa Kirisame from the world with a never-ending winter (a Touhou LW original). She unveils her Last Word, that's in the final phases of testing. May came around, but the Forest of Magic was still caught in a snowstorm. Marisa doesn't mind winter or snow, but she was looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms at Hakurei Shrine. She jumped out of her nice and cozy, magically heated house when she noticed some petals mixed in with the falling snow. They were definitely cherry blossom petals. But where did they come from? Surprisingly sharp, she looked upwind... toward the summit of the Youkai Mountain. "This is my chance to put my new attack to the test."
