Takagumori (a Touhou LW original) refers to an overcast sky. This is an apt temperament for this Sakuya, a maid who relentlessly rushes about Gensokyo in search of treasure. Sakuya's usual Metal Phase temperament (strong against Earth Phase, but weak to Fire Phase) seems to have been contaminated with a temperament similar to that of a vampire (strong against Moon and Star Essence but weak to Sun Essence).

The events in question seem to be as different and disconnected as the articles in a newspaper, but they have all been gathered together for some inscrutable reason. The second event of the 9.4th prolonged incident mainly involved Sakuya Izayoi. Remilia wanted to go to the Moon, so Patchouli devised a spell, and Sakuya snuck into people's homes in search of the items it required. According to trustworthy historical records, Sakuya succeeded in gathering some of the items, but the plan ultimately failed. However, it seems things went differently in this world's prolonged incident. The following is an excerpt from an unverified source: One of the items Sakuya was hunting was called the Armstrong treasure. Nobody knew what it was, or if someone did, they mustn't have known that Sakuya was looking for it. Sakuya rummaged through every house in Gensokyo to no avail. Thinking the Armstrong treasure might have been right under her nose from the start, she decided to search the Scarlet Devil Mansion... specifically the mansion's storage room where all the things that are no longer used or better not seen by guests are stored. It contains spare cleaning tools and various styles of maid uniforms for when Remilia decides to hire more maids. It also houses old brass machines that have no apparent function. The room is so large that not even Sakuya is aware of everything stored there. As Sakuya lit up the very back of the room with her lantern, she saw an old cape hanging up on the wall, exuding an ominous aura. She looked around a little more but couldn't find anything that seemed like the Armstrong treasure, and just as she was about to give up her search, the cape called out to her. "Hey, don't look away from me." Remilia wants to go to the Moon this night, so Sakuya is determined to find the Armstrong before the Sun rises even if she has to stop time to do so... which sounds like another incident in and of itself. The Scarlet Devil of Old? The mysterious entity that inhabits Sakuya's mind claims to be the previous Scarlet Devil, the Great Scarlet Devil Duchess, and Remilia and Flandre's mother. However, it's unclear if Remilia and Flandre even had a mother, and there is no mention of any Scarlet Devil other than Remilia in any of the historical records. While the way the entity talks may come across as inelegant or overly aggressive, she is undoubtedly a lady of noble upbringing. According to her, she is not a tsukumogami or a vengeful spirit but an astral body that dwelled within her favorite cape. This is possible because, unlike humans, vampires don't need a brain to think or move. However, she plans to regain a physical form by replacing a human's brain to take over its body. Sakuya wasn't able to prevent the entity from entering her mind since it caught her unawares, but she managed to stall the consumption of her brain through her ability to manipulate time. They are currently locked in a stalemate, with Sakuya wishing she could do the impossible and somehow turn back time. It's crazy to think that all this was caused by Sakuya finding an old cape in a storage room, but perhaps there's something more to it...
