Ana Zensen (a Touhou LW original) refers to a weather front formed when bodies of warm and cold air collide where either one or both ascend. This is the temperament of Merlin, one of the three poltergeist sisters, who use music made by combining electrical signals and spirit energy to hack into the spirit world. Her temperament was reformed by exchanging magical principles for the laws of physics. This temperament is specialized to resist Moon Essence and Star Essence.
The ability of Merlin Prismriver, the electronic musician (a Touhou LW original). Merlin's original ability became this one when it was concealed by the system of the Capital. However, due to miscellaneous adjustments and the construction of alternate functions, Merlin's maniac note-performing capabilities are unchanged. The living have always and will always desire to converse with the dead. Being eternally separated from a loved one causes untold mental and emotional turmoil, so wanting to speak with them again, even just once, is a natural reaction. This world is full of these regretful thoughts and feelings. However, the dead aren't the only ones people wish to meet but can't. No matter the age or culture, people always tend to want to make contact with supernatural beings, such as spirits, gods, and even aliens. Even nowadays, people still try to seek an audience with them to obtain knowledge or solace. It is a part of our culture and civilization as humans. The shrine maiden profession emerged to satiate this desire, as did rudimentary government systems. Lost family members are a typical example of someone who you might want to meet again. Perhaps that girl wasn't able to send a letter, and there were no mobile phones back then, so she resorted to trying to send her thoughts telepathically and shouting her prayers... but she didn't receive any answer. This is probably how the poltergeists manifested. Merlin and her sisters were dead certain that their help was needed to make the plan to liberate Xanadu a success. The operation was set to take place in a virtual and spiritual world separated from reality by a thin translucent wall, so their poltergeist ability to disrupt media and their mind-influencing spirit world music would surely come in use... That world is similar to the world of social media platforms that were so prevalent long ago in the outside world, but this Merlin doesn't know anything about that.
The Spread Shot of Merlin Prismriver, the electronic musician (a Touhou LW original). She fires electronic sounds at her enemies. When a very short delay separates two sounds, the preceding sound absorbs the latter. It's kind of like the doppelganger effect but for sound. This phenomenon can apparently be used to create ambient soundscapes with monophonic tracks. There's always more to learn about spirits and souls.
The Focus Shot of Merlin Prismriver, the electronic musician (a Touhou LW original). She fires spirit energy noise. Apparently, audio recording devices can sometimes record the voices of the dead. However, this isn't necessarily something to fear, as it could be a message from a guardian spirit.
A Spell Card of Merlin Prismriver, the electronic musician (a Touhou LW original). She recreates a musical performance that took place near the Sanzu River. The Ruined Western Mansion near the Misty Lake is the Prismriver family home. Some records indicate that the three Prismriver sisters were accompanied by a person called Layla when their residence first appeared in Gensokyo. It's theorized that Layla conjured the three Prismriver poltergeist sisters into being with her magic and that she lived together with these poltergeist sisters until she passed away. This was before the poltergeists started performing, so perhaps their feelings of regret at not being able to perform with Layla created false memories in their minds.
A Spell Card of Merlin Prismriver, the electronic musician (a Touhou LW original). She plays a song that utilizes a group of soloists accompanied by an orchestra. It's theorized that the three poltergeist Prismriver sisters are based on Layla's older sisters. The young Layla missed her sisters so much that she conjured the poltergeists. Anyone familiar with magic should be able to recognize the difficulty of performing such a complex spell. In fact, the magic was so powerful that the poltergeists managed to persist somehow after Layla passed from this world. There are rumors that the former head of the Prismriver family, Count Prismriver, possessed a magic item before he left his family in ruin... Layla might have used that to cast her spell.
The Last Word of Merlin Prismriver, the electronic musician (a Touhou LW original). She performs an audience-less live show and streams it on the All Spirit Network. There was once a band called Yougakudan known throughout Gensokyo. They were incredibly popular, so chances are the Prismriver Ensemble have heard of them. However, due to a lack of reliable sources, the sisters' opinions on Yougakudan's futuristic music are a mystery. Regardless, this world's Merlin remembers this music of the future... or rather, she has started to remember. Yougakudan wanted to send a message that could only be conveyed through music, and now, after all this time, it is being heard.
Disco is forever being made anew mainly through the power of electricity... no, through energy.
