Character Information
Temperament: Kaishi
Kaishi (a Touhou LW original) refers to a mirage. This is an apt temperament for Kokoro, the menreiki from the world of eternal summer. A Noh performer always keeps one face hidden. (Strong against Moon Essence.) A riot of emotions burns within her. (Strong against Fire Phase.) The variety of emotions is infinite. (Strong against Star Essence.) ...But she isn't good at dealing with cutting remarks about the quality of her jokes. (Weak against Metal Phase.)
Ability/Backstory: Capable of manipulating emotions (Beach)
The ability of Hata no Kokoro from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). This ability doesn't seem any different from the Kokoro of our world's ability. "Mom... I mean, Miss Miko is trying to investigate something, but I'm more interested in seeing how fast I can go on this cool jet ski!" Kokoro uses Ayakashi, the pseudo-artifact, as a kind of tool to help her learn how to express herself, even though that doesn't appear to be its original purpose. It may seem like she zooms across the land and sea without a care in the world, but she takes special care not to endanger anyone. (Otherwise, a certain shrine maiden would endanger her.) While the way she talks may sound wild and aggressive, she doesn't say anything that might hurt someone. (A certain shrine maiden would have words for her if she did.) Kokoro decided that instead of lazing about doing nothing, she'd beat the sweltering summer's heat by blasting it away with her jet ski. It's fun, and it also lets her forget about her troubles. "How do I steer mine boat with such skill and poise?" "You want to know how to sound cool? What do you mean?" Miko's two attendants had no idea what Kokoro hoped to achieve, but they were happy to teach all they could to such an enthusiastic student. While Kokoro isn't human, they thought she might have the potential to become some kind of youkai hermit. Ayakashi, the Pseudo-Artifact Ayakashi is the name of one of Kokoro's 66 masks. Miko used special Taoist magic on the mask to transform it into a pseudo-artifact. Unlike the artifacts of Heaven that can primarily only be used by celestials, pseudo-artifacts can also be used by hermits and Taoists. According to Miko, they're just as powerful as the real thing. It looks like a jet ski because Miko took inspiration from a species of youkai that shares the name "ayakashi."

Toyosatomimi no Miko asked Kokoro if she'd like to help her make a machine that can traverse the sea. Kokoro went along with it as she owed Miko for the Mask of Hope, even though she was a little concerned, considering how that mask turned out. She also felt this might give her an opportunity to practice expressing emotions, but she didn't exactly have high hopes.

Kokoro suddenly realized one day that Ayakashi, one of her 66 masks, had a deep connection to the sea. But she couldn't remember if she'd ever used it before or what emotions it was meant to express. She looked down at the mask in apparent confusion. "Apparent" because she tilted her head to the side while maintaining the same deadpan expression as always.

Beach Mask: Benkei in a Boat
A Spell Card of Hata no Kokoro from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). She performs an ocean play recalled by her Ayakashi mask. The Ayakashi mask is used in Noh to represent ancient gods or ghosts at sea. However, it isn't precisely clear what emotions it represents. Kokoro decided that because it's a mask of the ocean, she'd wear it to express how much she enjoys summer and playing at the beach.

Miko transformed Kokoro's Ayakashi mask into a cool jet ski. Kokoro has no idea how Miko did it, but since it's still her mask, she can control the jet ski like it's a literal extension of herself. She zooms across the water, going wherever her emotions take her.

Noh on the Water - Ayakashi
The Last Word of Hata no Kokoro from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). She performs a special Noh of Darkness play atop the ocean. Hata no Kokoro doesn't know where her emotions are leading her. She isn't sure what she'll find if she rides out beyond the horizon or even why Miko created this jet ski in the first place... All she knows is that she feels completely free when she rides it. It's like her soul isn't bound by anything. But what is the name of this emotion?
