Reimu Hakurei, the Hakurei shrine maiden, waits for worshippers to come by, but the shrine is quiet as usual... That is, until she sees Marisa flying toward her on her broom. The magician seems rather excited about something, but what could it be?
Marisa Kirisame is an ordinary magician living in the Forest of Magic. On the way to Reimu's place, she encounters a skiving Komachi who tells her about a festival on the Road of Liminality. As soon as she hears this, Marisa dashes off to get Reimu.
The Road of Liminality is the path leading to the Sanzu River. The dead must take this road to reach the river. It is often assumed to be a quiet place, but in reality, there are quite a number of stores by the road. Since the living can take this road too, it can be as busy as a festival.
Marisa pulls Reimu over to the food stalls on the Road of Liminality. When the two arrive at their destination, they find all kinds of folks enjoying the event. The crowd consists of the dead from the other side of the Sanzu River as well as living festival lovers and youkai who have come to have some fun.
Should you ever visit the road, you might find Miko, Mamizou, and Futo enjoying themselves there. They might even buy something for you. You may also see Komachi and Kutaka wondering how to make the alley even livelier than it already is. Please give them a hand if you do!
