Yamame Kurodani is a tsuchigumo who has the ability to manipulate illness. She used to live above ground but was banished and is now confined to life in the Underworld.

True to her nature as a spider, Yamame is skilled at weaving spider silk. Using her dexterity and strength, she's capable of constructing elaborate webs. Since she was sealed away in the Former Capital, it seems she's taken to using a cave as her stronghold. In the outside world, tsuchigumo appear in legends as man-eating youkai with the face of an oni, the body of a tiger, and the legs of a spider.

The Underworld is the home of the earth spirits, and the place known as the Former Capital was once a part of Hell. It used to be an extremely lively and prosperous area, but with the great influx of oni, it's since become a giant underground city filled with the most detested and powerful youkai. It's not known why Yamame was exiled there, but it likely had something to do with her ability to manipulate illness being highly feared.

Two things are certain. Yamame has the ability to manipulate illness, and she's been confined to the Underworld. Given those facts, it may be difficult for you to imagine her in a positive light. If that's the case, you should try meeting her. Before long, you'll see the aforementioned facts don't tell the whole story.

Yamame is a laidback, fun-loving person. The kind anyone would get along with. She's extremely popular with the denizens of the Underworld, and there are even rumors of her being celebrated as a literal underground idol. But any time you ask her about that, she acts surprised. As a result, the truth of the matter is still not known.
