Letting Fists Do the Talking

Story
The massive gloves that Joon and Byakuren wear with their swimsuits are called Magic Lotus Gloves. Apparently, they have a will of their own because they were made out of materials from Makai. Swinging them around causes streams of water to blast out from the knuckles, and they also have water thrusters on the back that can be used to fly at incredible speeds. They are incredibly sophisticated magic items that have near-infinite uses in battle... Though, that's probably overcomplicating it. It's much easier to simply call them big, fancy water guns. That's what Byakuren does.

With the bright sun, cloudless sky, and coconut trees swaying gently in the wind, the world of eternal summer is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Well, at least it would be if it wasn't for the constant splashes of water and the clashing and clanging of metal gloves banging together. Joon and Byakuren traded blow after blow as they trained. Their pride was on the line, and neither was willing to take a backward step, let alone a break.

"Byakuren never pulls any punches." thought Joon as she swung her golden glove in a glorious arc. This was meant to be just another part of her Buddhist training, but she couldn't help but get really into it. She'd be lying if she said it wasn't fun. Then again, Byakuren seems to be having fun, too, so perhaps that's OK. "Got you!" Spotting a gap in Byakuren's defenses, she put her whole body behind a single punch! Byakuren stumbled. "Not so confident now, huh? Don't think I didn't see you wince. See how much stronger I've gotten," Joon thought to herself.

Byakuren unleashed a mighty blow with her copper-colored glove. She was happy and more than a little surprised to see how far Joon had come. Seeing her disciples grow mentally and physically stronger before her eyes brings her no shortage of joy―so much so that she accidentally let her guard down, allowing Joon to get a hit in. "Wow, it seems the great Byakuren isn't so tough after all. You can barely even stand up straight! You gotta train more!" Byakuren's eyes narrowed. Then, all of a sudden, she activated the water thrusters on her Magic Lotus Glove to dash inside Joon's guard and launch a vicious uppercut. "Eep!" "Teehee, don't get overconfident." As Joon's teacher, she couldn't afford to lose.

Training is meant to be difficult. It's meant to be a struggle. But the two girls fighting on the beach couldn't stop smiling. They couldn't be having more fun. If you keep an open mind, you can find enjoyment amidst the pain of challenging and surpassing your limits. There's also a more tangible reward for doing so. Each day you train makes you stronger than you were before. Joon and Byakuren were determined to be the strongest Magic Lotus Glove fighters. Their eyes shined with the will to keep challenging themselves and each other as they exchanged punch after punch. There was no time to talk, but that's OK. Their fists did all the talking for them!
