Marisa Kirisame, an unconventional but ordinary magician living in the Forest of Magic. She makes a living exterminating youkai, which puts her in competition with Reimu. She also likes to collect rare and magic items.

The word magic encompasses many things. The magic Marisa uses is generally considered to be Western magic. She cannot use many different kinds of magic and is honestly only effective at destroying things. However, her magic has few weaknesses and has the same effect on everyone, youkai and humans alike.

Marisa likes to fight things head-on, fair and square. She is flashy and her bullet hell attacks make for an amazing show. You can find her laughing innocently as she enjoys battles of bullets just for the sake of it, rather than for showing off her own power.

It's rare for a human to be as skilled with magic as Marisa is. Marisa says it might be the influence of the Forest of Magic, but the magician actually puts in a lot of work to hone her magic behind the scenes, though she never lets anyone else see it. In that sense, she really is just an ordinary magician.

Marisa specializes in star-themed magic for her Spell Cards. She mainly uses light and heat magic, which goes well with her motto: "It ain't magic if it ain't flashy!" She is at the shrine a lot, so she takes youkai extermination requests meant for Reimu and flies off on her broomstick to finish them first.
