Satori's Anniversary Bullets

Story
"I can't believe Yukari Yakumo thought this far ahead. Even I couldn't have predicted this. I hate to admit it, but I owe her one. For now, let's find a way to end this. There's no need to be afraid anymore. In fact... it's them that should be afraid. Vanguard fighters of the Lost Word, your minds are mine to read."

Satori Komeiji's Fantasy Rebirth Ghost stories and urban legends have little to do with adults. Such stories are predominantly created and spread among children. Youkai are born in the safety provided by the period between childhood and adulthood. They're created in locked rooms, out of sight. But the imagination breeds fear, which wrenches open the locked doors of the mind. Surely there's no way anyone can ACTUALLY read minds. Then again... where's the proof? Can you guarantee your thoughts aren't being read right now? Can you guarantee your darkest secrets aren't about to be revealed? Peace of mind is nothing but a momentary fantasy that exists atop a fragile equilibrium.

"What are you doing here? Why did it have to be you...? You... You have to open your mind. NOW!"

Land of Naraka Worlds without boundaries aren't the only hope. Walls and ceilings can save you, too, just like the Underworld saved her mind. It takes great power to read the mind of a mind-reader. But great power has a tendency to fade, a fact that youkai know all too well. If nothing but unpleasant thoughts await you, then hiding away becomes a wise decision. If you want to live, live in a city. If you want to take shelter, take shelter in the pure lands... Just pray that the vengeful spirits don't escape.

"Her reading my mind would've only caused more trouble. This seems to be the best way for everyone." [Torn page of a report written by Rin Kaenbyou.]
