Sweet Dreams

Story
Doremy Sweet is a dweller and ruler of the Dream World. Depending on how dreams are used, you can go wherever you wish and become whatever you desire. Consequently, there are many who would try to use dreams for their own nefarious purposes. It seems that Doremy, as the custodian of dreams, pays close watch over everyone's dreams so that no such incidents or abnormalities come to pass.

Doremy is a baku, a creature of Chinese mythology. In China, they are depicted as beings that ward off evil, which led to the practice of owning pictures of baku as charms. However, when the baku was introduced to Japan, their ability to ward off bad dreams was interpreted as the baku getting rid of the bad dreams by eating them.

The tapir was thought to look very similar to how the mythical baku creature was described. Consequently, the tapir was also named baku in Japanese. The black and white design of Doremy's outfit is inspired by the appearance of this animal. However, it should be noted that her tail does not at all resemble the tail of a tapir.

Dreams are mental images or hallucinations in a what-if reality that you experience while you sleep. Even in this present age of technology, there are still many mysteries regarding dreams that continue to fascinate and at times terrify those who ponder them. Some speculate that dreams are out-of-body experiences of the soul or that they are messages from gods, demons, or other supernatural beings. However, there is still no definitive explanation for them.

"Sweet dreams" is a more affectionate way of saying good night used by family, couples, or close friends. If you happen to have a lovely dream, there is a chance that it was a present from this ruler of the Dream World.
