Reimu Hakurei is the shrine maiden at Hakurei Shrine. She sweeps every day so that the shrine is always ready for worshippers, but as usual, nobody actually comes. The shrine's only visitors are youkai and acquaintances coming to see Reimu.

Reimu tries many different things to get more visitors for the shrine, but with the rumor that youkai appear at Hakurei Shrine, no normal person will try to visit. Reimu might not have realized this yet...

One time, the shrine's offering box was full. Reimu had been so happy when she went to check... But it had actually been full of leaves. When Reimu realized that it had been a prank by the bake-danuki, kitsune, and fairies, she started getting ready to head out. Why? For some youkai extermination, obviously.

If you ever find yourself lost in Gensokyo, you should head to Hakurei Shrine. There is no doubt that many people, Reimu included, will lend you a hand.

You should help Reimu out and put some coins in her offering box. If you do, she will happily pray for you, and you will have more friends to help you out too.
