Ne-arashi (a Touhou LW original) refers to storms that come on Parinirvana Day, the supposed anniversary of Buddha's death and achievement of complete Nirvana. This is an apt temperament for this Lily White, the fairy far too obsessed with spring. This temperament is all about spring and is the same as our Lily White's temperament (Sun Essence and Wood Phase).
The ability of Lily White from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). There is no noticeable difference between her ability and the abilities of Lily Whites from other worlds. It appears she fulfills her role as Fairy Herald of Spring by announcing the coming of spring in this world as well. According to supposedly reliable historical records, the Spring Snow Incident concluded with the defeat of the ghost beneath the cherry blossoms, Yuyuko Saigyouji. Yuyuko subsequently returned the spring she had gathered from Gensokyo, returning things to how they were and allowing spring to arrive in Gensokyo, albeit much later than usual. However, this Lily White is suspected of prolonging the incident. She supposedly took back the spring that Yuyuko had gathered. After reclaiming it, she chose not to return it to the inept incident resolvers and instead kept it under her own protection, believing that was the safer option. As a result, Yuyuko's ambitions were thwarted, and spring never arrived in Gensokyo. This is one possible explanation for the beginning of the 7th prolonged incident. Could a mere fairy such as Lily White truly possess the immense magical power necessary to reclaim spring from Yuyuko? And would she, the Fairy Herald of Spring, intentionally withhold spring from Gensokyo? Lily White could have simply made a mistake because, as a fairy, her situational awareness is inherently limited, but the possibility that her actions were influenced by powerful external forces cannot be ruled out. While winter is the season of death, spring represents birth and renewal. The fundamental flow of the seasons is closely tied to the driving principles of the Spring Snow Incident. Yuyuko proved that spring temperament was effective for both rejuvenating an ancient cherry tree that no longer bloomed and for reviving the corpse that lay beneath its bare branches. Meanwhile, as the Fairy Herald of Spring, Lily White could be described as the embodiment of spring temperament. Taken literally, this would mean that during the incident, she would have been powerless to stop the spring that was supposed to arrive in Gensokyo, as well as that which had already arrived, from being stolen away to the Netherworld. That, if nothing else, would be consistent with what is written in the aforementioned reliable historical records. However, what if Lily White, as the embodiment of spring, not only heralds spring's arrival but actually makes it spring? What if, as the season of rebirth, a return from the Netherworld is a natural part of spring's cycle? That would mean the act of gathering spring imbues Lily White with power. It is possible that something unexpected occurred when Lily White came into contact with the Saigyou Ayakashi. The spring accumulated within the Saigyou Ayakashi may have transferred into Lily White, awakening something dormant within her. That something could have been the memories contained within her spring fairy temperament about a mythical former goddess of spring and agriculture and the fairies who served her.
The Spread Shot of Lily White from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She announces spring's coming in this attack. Spring is the season of new beginnings. When it arrives, it brings with it the new year as well as new life. Can summer, autumn, or winter really compete with that?
The Focus Shot of Lily White from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She scatters spring flowers in this attack. Spring is the season when buds open and flowers blossom. Summer is the season of growth and autumn is the season of fruition, but neither would be possible without spring. And winter, the season of death, can only exist as a counterpart to spring, the season of life. In other words, spring is the king of all seasons.
A Spell Card of Lily White from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). The footsteps of spring ring out in this attack. Fairies like Lily White and Daiyousei often use battles of bullets instead of words. Despite them literally firing bullets at people, it seems their battles aren't fought out of a desire to cause harm but are used to communicate different things depending on the situation, like happiness or fear. Considering also the instrument tsukumogami, who use sound waves as bullets, perhaps battles of bullets could become a trusted method of communication.
A Spell Card of Lily White from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She tells everyone about spring's warmth in this attack. Since ancient times, the coming of spring has been celebrated. Having waned throughout winter, the Sun reclaims its strength and once more blesses the earth with its warmth. Spring's coming was not seen as an inevitability, but rather the result of a pact with the gods sustained through prayer and ritual. However, the science of material civilization rid nature of its divinity, reducing it to nothing more than a giant machine, turning from one season to the next.
The Last Word of Lily White from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She puts an end to all seasons but spring in this attack. "Spring goddess and the divine flower fairies that serve her, return from the land of the dead and don't look back. Recall now your memories of dreams carved into temperament. The humans have forgotten their pact with the gods, but you will make them remember. Sing and dance with untamed passion. Let them all know... that SPRING IS HERE!"
Everything you do becomes spring. Does that mean you're the one creating it?
Spring is fun. The other seasons aren't.
If the actions you take lead to spring, then what is there to complain about?
