Rai-un (a Touhou LW original) refers to thunderclouds. This is an apt temperament for Ichirin, a nyuudou user whose growth knows no bounds. Ichirin is endowed with Water Phase, the temperament of clouds, and Sun Essence for her diligent yet adaptive personality. The flexible and patient Water Phase resists Metal Phase, because metal collects water, but it is weak to Earth Phase, because earth directs water. The alluring and arrogant Sun Essence resists the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence, but it is weak to the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence.
The ability of Ichirin Kumoi from the world with a high-flying treasure ship (a Touhou LW original). There is no noticeable difference between her ability and the abilities of Ichirins from other worlds. The 12th Prolonged Incident Incidents become prolonged when the incident resolvers are unable to resolve the incident and the perpetrators cannot achieve their goals. This particular incident would end if Byakuren Hijiri came into contact with the humans and they reached an understanding or if her friends managed to reunite with her and free her from Makai. In this world, neither of those things has happened. Ichirin seems to be the main cause of this incident's prolonging. She and Unzan have successfully managed to keep the humans away from their ship, unwittingly preventing themselves from gathering the fragments of the Flying Storehouse the humans possess. These fragments contain a portion of Myouren's power, and they cannot free Byakuren unless they gather enough fragments to repair the Palanquin Ship. (Myouren is Byakuren's younger brother and a legendary monk in his own right.) The members of what should have later become Myouren Temple used the Palanquin Ship as their center of operations. According to trustworthy historical sources, most of these members flocked to Byakuren's cause after hearing her preach for the salvation of youkai. (The exceptions are Nazrin, who was sent to Byakuren's temple by Bishamonten; Kogasa, who they just happened to meet in Gensokyo; and Nue, who Murasa, Ichirin, and Unzan befriended in the Underworld.) Later, when humans discovered that Byakuren was a magician who sympathized with youkai, they sealed her away in Makai. Shou managed to hide her true nature and maintained her position as the avatar of Bishamonten, but the other youkai dwelling in the temple were sealed away in the Underworld, and most of the treasures Byakuren possessed were scattered to the four winds. Since Shou stayed at the temple, it's fairly safe to assume that Nazrin, tasked with watching over her, remained there, too. It took several hundred years for the other youkai to return, and by then, the temple had long since fallen into disrepair. This was when Shou told everyone how they could save Byakuren by using the Flying Storehouse imbued with Myouren's power. They devised a plan to utilize the recent geyser disturbance to fly up from the Underworld aboard the Flying Storehouse, AKA the Palanquin Ship. This timeline of events shows that Shou and Nazrin must have visited the Underworld, explaining why Nazrin is familiar with Orin and the other youkai down there. Perhaps they ended up in the Underworld in a similar manner to how things that are forgotten end up in Gensokyo. The barrier surrounding Gensokyo has no visible form, but it could very well be spherical, meaning that it could also encompass the Underworld. The sources also mention that Byakuren possessed many treasures in addition to the Flying Storehouse. This isn't that surprising since temples often house rare and valuable items, from ritual implements, like vajra, to art and statues. Considering how Byakuren made her mysterious sutra scroll from materials she found in Makai, it seems likely that she made other magical items before she got sealed away. Ichirin's golden dharma rings may be one of her creations that contain a portion of her power, similar to Myouren's Flying Storehouse. Chances are she also gathered artifacts from the heartland of Buddhism across the ocean. Kengai, the old sword-armor artifact that this Ichirin wears, is probably one of the lucky treasures that were not lost when Byakuren got sealed away. Ultimate Unzan Ability: Capable of changing shape and size at will (Prolonged). This Unzan has become more powerful thanks to Ichirin's old artifact, but that's the only real difference between him and the Unzans from other worlds. He is still a fatherly figure who speaks softly, enjoys battles, and respects those who are kind and brave.
The Spread Shot of Ichirin Kumoi from the world with a high-flying treasure ship (a Touhou LW original). Mikoshi nyuudou and nyuudou user attack in sync. Ichirin and Unzan are the perfect duo. Sometimes, Unzan even acts in anticipation of Ichirin's movements. It's possible that Ichirin's golden dharma rings let them communicate telepathically.
The Focus Shot of Ichirin Kumoi from the world with a high-flying treasure ship (a Touhou LW original). Mikoshi nyuudou and nyuudou user attack in sync. Ichirin and Unzan weren't always this close. Ichirin was a human who exterminated Unzan, a youkai. But remarkably, instead of disappearing, Unzan was impressed by Ichirin's courage and became her friend. Their strong bond empowers them both.
A Spell Card of Ichirin Kumoi from the world with a high-flying treasure ship. She coordinates with her partner in this attack. No one ordered Ichirin and Unzan to protect the Palanquin Ship, but they do so willingly. The Palanquin Ship is an actual ship empowered with houjutsu that Byakuren Hijiri gave to Minamitsu Murasa. However, it is also a magical treasure trove known as the Flying Storehouse. Their only means to get to Makai and free Byakuren is to repair the Palanquin Ship by gathering the fragments of the Flying Storehouse, and they will not let anyone get in their way.
A Spell Card of Ichirin Kumoi from the world with a high-flying treasure ship. She coordinates with her partner in this attack. Ichirin and Unzan have similar personalities―Ichirin is earnest and loyal, and Unzan is loyal and stubborn. However, Unzan's stubbornness is somewhat mitigated by Ichirin's willingness to adapt and remarkable ability to think on her feet. That's how Ichirin defeated a mikoshi nyuudou in the first place and why they make such a good team.
The Last Word of Ichirin Kumoi from the world with a high-flying treasure ship (a Touhou LW original). They unleash a combo attack with an old artifact. This mysterious suit of armor has made Ichirin and Unzan incredibly powerful. When Ichirin dons the armor, she resembles Kengai-Douji (also known as Ken no Gohou), a legendary figure from the Shigisan Engi Emaki. Kengai-Douji was Myouren's protector and helped him heal an illness from afar. Perhaps this old artifact contains a portion of Kengai-Douji's power.
"We won't let you disturb Captain Murasa! Huh? You brought Flying Treasure?"
Who else but Kengai-Douji and pangolins would think to cover themselves in blades?
