Character Information

Temperament: Soyogi no Konoha
Soyogi no Konoha (a Touhou LW original) refers to the subtle breeze caused by the rustling of tree leaves. This is an apt temperament for Doremy, a dream youkai who eagerly tries to sell bedding at every opportunity. However, something strange seems to be mixed into this temperament. Alongside Doremy's usual temperament (Earth Phase & Star Essence), there appears to be an additional, ominous temperament suggestive of a calamitous god (Wood Phase).
Ability/Backstory: Capable of eating and creating dreams (Prolonged)
The ability of Doremy Sweet from the world with super thoughtography records (a Touhou LW original). There is no noticeable difference between her ability and the abilities of Doremys from other worlds. The 15.3rd Prolonged Incident is classified as a special case. It closely resembles the 9.4th Prolonged Incident, forming a peculiar spacetime in which otherwise unrelated events come together in a strange way. The whole thing feels less like a single narrative and more like an omnibus, or even a tribute, pieced together from fragments scattered across different times and places. The original timelines were likely inconsistent as well. With this many unrelated phenomena converging in one place, it's hard to believe it was mere coincidence. Something, or someone, was clearly at work behind the scenes. It feels like the kind of dream you have when you're sick. 15.3rd Prolonged Incident―Type 4, Case 2 A popular, yet suspicious pillow sold by Doremy Sweet. The pillow guarantees a good night's sleep and doesn't appear particularly unusual, at least by Gensokyo standards. Strange dreams had been reported, but nothing out of the ordinary, again by Gensokyo standards. There didn't appear to be any obvious factor that would cause the situation to worsen over time... at least so it seemed. As this is a Prolonged Incident, the following information is drawn from false data and should be regarded as a reference only. Doremy Sweet refers to herself as the ruler of dreams. The Dream World is believed to be vast, and considering the nature of dreams, it likely mirrors the real world in scale. This raises the question of whether such an immense realm can truly be kept under control. Over time, it became apparent that the inhabitants of the Dream World do not always act according to Doremy's will, but instead behave independently, much like those of the waking world. This should not be mistaken for a failure in Doremy's authority. It is simply the consequence of the Dream World's immense scale. Any form of control comes with a cost, and with every cost comes a limit. Perfect and absolute control is therefore impossible under any circumstances, which means that, even in the Dream World, Doremy will always have vulnerabilities. Exploiting them, however, would require the appropriate means, sufficient power, and the right conditions. The Dream World once served as a temporary refuge for the inhabitants of the Lunar Capital, a task Doremy handled competently. Her strength is therefore not to be underestimated. However, there are beings who far surpass her. Such a being has already been identified in the past: the avatar of Taisei Xingjun. Hong Meiling once encountered the avatar of Taisei Xingjun in a dream. Any existing records of the event are presumed to be heavily filtered through Meiling's perspective. Taking that into account, it would not be unreasonable to dismiss the event as nothing more than a dream. However, so long as Hong Meiling's true nature remains unclear, it's possible that the encounter holds far greater significance. The open involvement of a heavyweight like Taisei Xingjun in Gensokyo is exceedingly rare. Even Hecatia Lapislazuli, formidable as she is, is in essence only one among the many gods of the Mediterranean cultural sphere. Taisei Xingjun, however, is an exceptionally powerful god of calamity. It would not be an exaggeration to say that onmyoudou was created and refined to avoid the overwhelming calamity they represent. The emergence of such a being would be disastrous. Taisei Xingjun never appeared in person in Meiling's dream. What she saw were their youkai servants, borrowing the forms of familiar faces, along with one of their avatars, identifying itself as the Giant Catfish. Had Meiling failed to prevail, that calamity might have crossed over into reality, plunging Gensokyo into catastrophe. Was Doremy Sweet, the ruler of dreams, aware of this? Perhaps it doesn't matter. What matters is that someone attempted to interfere with Gensokyo through the Dream World. What, then, was Taisei Xingjun intending to accomplish through his avatar? Or did that avatar act of its own accord? Or was the entire incident just a dream? In the Dream World, however, "just a dream" is anything but reassuring. Whatever purpose the avatar may have had was likely never realized. To plunge Gensokyo into disaster, one would first have to overcome the ruler of dreams. Hopefully, Doremy has things under control...

Attacks

Prototype Bean Bags

The Spread Shot of Doremy Sweet from the world with super thoughtography records (a Touhou LW original). She attacks with her prototype products, which are still in development. Dreams are often used to explain why sleep is essential. However, they cannot be dismissed as merely a method of organizing memories, as that explanation fails to account for prophetic dreams.

The Focus Shot of Doremy Sweet from the world with super thoughtography records (a Touhou LW original). She attacks with her prototype products, which are still in development. Dreams are said to lead to one of two places: the heavens or underground. While sleeping, the spirit leaves the body, and its destination depends on whether it is the hun or the po. According to ancient belief, hun and po are two types of souls: the hun is light and spiritual, while the po is heavy and bound to the body. The light hun rises to the heavens, while the heavy po sinks beneath the earth. The Dream World links to mysterious underground realms and enigmatic cities far beyond the sky. It may even allow passage to Hell or artificial satellites. However, some dreams travel to places that are neither heaven nor earth. One such place is Gensokyo.

Dream Sign: Odd Sweet Sleep Pillow Dream

A Spell Card of Doremy Sweet from the world with super thoughtography records (a Touhou LW original). Strange rumors begin circulating about her popular sleep pillow. Across history, dreams have inspired many stories. An astronomer whose work left a lasting mark on future generations wrote one of the first science fiction novels about a journey to the Moon experienced through a dream. There are also tales like the legend of Koga Saburo, where he spent an entire lifetime in Yuimankoku, only for him to awaken and find it was nothing more than a brief, fleeting dream. Though people's views on dreams differ, their feelings toward them are curiously similar. Humanity built civilization by pushing their brains that have barely changed since prehistoric times. Are dreams merely a shared glitch in that system? To dismiss them as nothing more than a film playing inside the skull would be a truly dreamless way of thinking.

Dream Sign: Dream Diary

A Spell Card of Doremy Sweet from the world with super thoughtography records (a Touhou LW original). She attacks with a dream journal that records every dream. Sumireko Usami's condition later became widely known as the dreaming disease. Despite its name, it is likely better understood not as a disease, but rather as a temporary psychological condition, perhaps comparable to a teenage fantasy phase. Aside from her first visit, Sumireko Usami most likely visited Gensokyo only while asleep, or appeared there as an alternate dream version of herself. While she's asleep, her physical body remains behind, often in places like a classroom where she dozes off, while only her consciousness travels to Gensokyo and inhabits a body capable of existing there. This method skillfully bypasses the barrier and is fundamentally similar to when Rinnosuke Morichika once experienced the outside world without realizing it. Physical bodies cannot pass through the barrier, but spiritual or mental ones can. Perhaps the dreaming disease simply reflects a traditional understanding of dreams, which were once believed to occur when the spirit temporarily left the body, a concept that was not yet understood at the time of the 15.3rd Prolonged Incident.

The Woman Who Haunts Your Dreams

The Last Word of Doremy Sweet from the world with super thoughtography records (a Touhou LW original). She attacks with ominous dreams. Something was clearly wrong, though she couldn't say what. She only knew she had felt this way before. But when? It was a dream neither recorded in the dream journal nor one she recognized. There was no dream soul or dream personality, though that hardly mattered. This was an intrusion, something that did not belong. A girl wandered through the bamboo forest, scribbling notes as she went. Fear gnawed at her, but she pressed on, driven by curiosity. She wore clothes that felt strangely out of place, as though from another era. Now that she thought about it, the figure might have been Yukari Yakumo. Even so...
