The Strange Magician (Scarlet)

I'm Reimu Hakurei, a shrine maiden... Just kidding. I'm Marisa Kirisame. Where'd that scarlet mist go?
Introduction
Oh, the mist suddenly cleared. Who are you? I think I'd recognize you if you were from the Human Village. Who am I? You can call me Reimu Hakurei―I'm a shrine maiden... Oh, you've already met Reimu, eh? I guess I'll save that joke for another time then. There doesn't seem to be any mist around―What happened? I was this close to condensing the mist and turning it into fuel for magic. You wanna know my real name? It's Marisa Kirisame.
Purple Heart
There are so many folks I don't recognize here. What in the world's going on?
Blue Heart
So this is a different Gensokyo to the Gensokyo where I was before, eh? That's a surprise.
Green Heart
The Gensokyo where I came from has been shrouded in a scarlet mist for the longest time. And thanks to that, mushrooms grow all over the place. There are rare ones and even some new species. It's so interesting.
Orange Heart
I managed to condense the scarlet mist into a highly pure and concentrated fuel for magic. This probably means that the mist has been propagated over a wide area through magical means and that the mist itself is magic and not a real mist formed from water... I should've questioned that girl in the library about this when I had the chance.
Pink Heart
I can't help but get sidetracked when I pass through the great library at the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Books are the embodiment of other people's knowledge. You can only live for so long, so there's a limit to how much you can experience. But through books you can make other people's experiences your own―it's like magic.
Summer
Even in the middle of summer, my Gensokyo was cold because of all the mist. The Forest of Magic gets covered in a thick layer of snow... Really? There was a similar incident in this world?
All right. I guess I'll try doing stuff that I can only do here until I can get home. You know of anything interesting? If there's something I can borrow―let's go borrow it.
Enhancement
My magic items have powered up. Sweet!
Return
Yeah, all these bullets flying at us are crazy strong. It was pretty fun dodging 'em.
Home 1
Each time it starts with a youkai of darkness, but I always mess up when I get to the maid. I wonder if there'll ever be a day when I can just leisurely explore the Scarlet Devil Mansion.
Home 2
I know there's a vampire girl waiting for me afterward, but I'm always worn out after the battle with the maid.
Home 3
On off days, I even sometimes lose to the youkai of darkness or the ice fairy. I take a rest before heading out again when that happens. They're just too strong... unnaturally so.
Reaction 1
You wanna ride on my broomstick? Sure, you can try, but it's not easy.
Reaction 2
See, you got shaken off. I told you it was hard.
Reaction 3
If you really wanna ride it, you've gotta study magic.
Task
A task, eh? It's good to work on improving yourself every day―it's what humans should do.
Task Complete
You're pretty diligent in actually accomplishing the tasks you were given. Not bad.
Mail
There's mail. Don't put off reading it―It might be important.
Errand Finished
Someone's back. They might've brought back a book, materials, or maybe something rare.
Start of Battle
This youkai energy gives me the chills... What kind of youkai is this?
Mid-Wave
There are strange beings no matter where we go, isn't there?
Victory
It doesn't matter if you're a normal human or a vampire―I'll sort you out all the same.
Defeat
This really isn't my style.

Character Information
Temperament: Ame
Ame (a Touhou LW original) refers to rain, the weather phenomenon where water falls down from the sky, and the water droplets themselves. This temperament may seem at first glance to be in direct opposition to Marisa's nature as she likes to use light and heat magic. Marisa is endowed with Water Phase, brisk and invigorating, and with Star Essence, as she acts according to her own interests and curiosity.
The flexible and patient Water Phase resists Metal Phase, because metal collects water, but it is weak to Earth Phase, because earth directs water.
The diverse and uncooperative Star Essence resists the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence, but it is weak to the charming and arrogant Sun Essence.
Ability/Backstory: Capable of using magic
The ability of Marisa Kirisame from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. It is essentially the same as our version of Marisa's ability. However, this Marisa has not yet managed to resolve the Scarlet Mist Incident.
There are a few possible explanations for why this incident was not resolved, but the main one is that this Marisa is much too curious and eager for knowledge. Some examples of the things she prefers to focus on over resolving incidents are listed below.
- She hypothesized that the scarlet mist was made up from some sort of special magic material and has focused on investigating and experimenting on it.
- She is far too curious about how Gensokyo's environment has changed due to the world being covered in the scarlet mist.
- She has taken an interest in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, particularly Patchouli's library, and it seems she has made it a priority of hers to visit. She may say these visits are to resolve the incident, but this is merely an excuse so she can take rare items.
Perhaps she isn't so keen on resolving the incident because if she does resolve it, she will no longer be able to satisfy her curiosity about her interests mentioned above. However, she is serious about dealing with the incident in her own way as she knows that the humans of the village are troubled by it... or that's what she says, at least.
Attacks
Illusion Laser (Scarlet)
The Spread Shot of Marisa Kirisame from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. This is the Illusion Laser of that world's Marisa. Flickering white lasers are emitted from the mini hakkero while Marisa uses her usual shock wave magic. The fact that Marisa can adjust the laser-firing mini hakkero's firepower from cooking miso soup to unleashing a Master Spark is what makes it so useful.

Magic Missile (Scarlet)
The Focus Shot of Marisa Kirisame from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. This is the Magic Missile of that world's Marisa. Missiles imbued with magic are fired from the mini hakkero. The bullets certainly look like missiles with the fins on the body and tail, but they are probably created with magic. Apparently, someone claims that these missiles are one of the fundamental types of magic that all magicians must know...

Magic Sign: Stardust Reverie
A Spell Card of Marisa Kirisame from the world shrouded in scarlet mist. She scatters a massive amount of stardust all around. This simple yet effective attack displays fantastical artistry. This is only one of Marisa's many different starry Spell Cards, but this is probably the first one she perfected. Most of her attacks have some sort of star theme.

Love Sign: Proto-Spark
A Spell Card of Marisa Kirisame from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). A simple yet extremely wide laser is shot from Marisa's mini hakkero in this attack. This Spell Card is this Marisa's version of Master Spark that she was not able to perfect. However, it is not lacking in terms of looks or power, so she probably completed most of the Spell Card's development apart from the testing. Using high-powered lasers is Marisa's preferred method of attack.

Prototype - Blazing Star
The Last Word of Marisa Kirisame from the world shrouded in scarlet mist (a Touhou LW original). She scatters stardust while flying into her targets with the speed and power of a shooting star. She was planning to spend more time on this attack's development so that it could be used as a super strong trump card, but she apparently had to rush to make it usable in battle. She took the firepower she learned from studying laser magic and combined it with the ability to control stardust she got from studying star magic, so she could fly at high speed while enveloped in a shield of stardust. This attack hints at what all her hard work will create in the future. Shooting stars are Marisa's favorite type of star.
