Introduction
The human-youkai boundary is fading. Seems you've crossed it, too. I'm Yukari Yakumo. I blamed Yuyuko's rampage for this never-ending incident. I was wrong. Sorry. It's basically a Carroll's Paradox between Yuyuko and the Saigyou Ayakashi. Rotten roots or not, that cherry tree's still a greater youkai. Paradise's Wonderful Shrine Maiden, the Ordinary Black Magician, and the Perfect and Elegant Servant can't handle it either. So, how about a little side job? Standing on that boundary, you're the wildcard who can slip through the paradox's blind spot. Right? Every incident must be resolved.

Hi Ame (a Touhou LW original) refers to a sunshower. This is an apt temperament for this Yukari, who manipulated too many boundaries in her sleep. Her original temperament (Earth Phase and Sun Essence) has combined with the temperament of spring (Wood Phase).
The encompassing and regenerative Earth Phase resists Fire Phase, because fire produces earth, but it is weak to Wood Phase, because wood parts earth.
The alluring and arrogant Sun Essence resists the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence, but it is weak to the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence.
The strong and kind Wood Phase resists Water Phase, because water nourishes wood, but it is weak to Metal Phase, because metal carves wood.

The ability of Yukari Yakumo from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). There is no noticeable difference between her ability and the abilities of Yukaris from other worlds. Something else she shares with all the other Yukaris is that she's complicated. Because of her ability, it's impossible to know how much she knows, what she could learn, what she is capable of, or what she has already accomplished.
The 7th Prolonged Incident
Better known as the Spring Snow Incident, this is one of the many incidents that affected temperament. Yuyuko Saigyouji was the incident's mastermind, and with Youmu Konpaku's help, she collected spring from Gensokyo and brought it to the Saigyou Ayakashi in Hakugyokurou in the Netherworld. It was only later, after the incident was resolved, that Yukari and her shikigami, Ran Yakumo, revealed themselves. At least that is how it is recorded in the true data. The fact that this Yukari appeared before the incident was resolved shows how truly strange these Prolonged Incidents are.
Youkai Incompleteness Theorems
Youkai must be beings unknown to humans. This is because when humans discover something, they inevitably try to analyze it, control it, collect it, preserve it, and in the end, consume it. Like fish that can only survive in pure, uncontaminated water, youkai need "change" to live. They must continue to cause incidents, and these incidents must be resolved. They must continue to engage in battles of bullets, and they must be defeated each time. To know, to discover something new, is a beautiful thing. It evokes feelings of joy. But for that to happen, they must be unknown. The more humans learn about youkai, the more the unknown nature of youkai continues to degrade unto infinity. Yet they can never know everything. That is how youkai can forever exist as youkai. That is what makes Gensokyo a paradise.
Trying to dissect Yukari's youkai brain isn't easy. Since she can manipulate barriers, she will blur the lines of whatever you imagine. What does it mean to think freely, unfettered by the physical and spiritual limits of time and space? Conceptualizing it is almost impossible, but this is how Yukari thinks, and she acts upon these thoughts. Yukari understands that the prolonging of this incident was not intended. She knows this isn't normal. So, she considered the three dunits: howdunit, whydunit, and whodunit. She even included herself in the list of suspects. After all, the idea of the detective or narrator being the culprit is an overused trope that has long since entered the realm of fantasy.

The Saigyou Ayakashi is a greater youkai in the form of a plant. The difference between plants and animals is that plants cannot wake up. While they may behave differently depending on the amount of light in their environment, this is simply a reaction of their cells and organs. They do not have a nervous system telling them to wake up. You could say that plants live their lives forever asleep.

Since plants sleep without ever waking, you could say that they are always dreaming.

Dreams could be interpreted as randomly accessed memories, making them completely different from sequential natural numbers. They ignore all chronological and spatial limitations. That is why the Dream World is such an unbelievably free and open spacetime.

Within the open spacetime of the Dream World, Yukari realized she could only truly connect with other sleepers, and that only other greater youkai capable of transcending spacetime could truly understand her. She spoke with the Saigyou Ayakashi in a dream. However, their conversation cannot be recorded with words because humans cannot conceptualize events that take place outside of time and space. The story of their conversation cannot be told, so the only option is to remain silent.
