Character Information

Temperament: Koyuki
Koyuki (a Touhou LW original) refers to light snowfall. This is an apt temperament for Yuyuko, the ghost princess who wants to gather much more spring than she should. Yuyuko's exceptionally strong will has altered her temperament. Her original temperament (Water Phase and Wood Phase) has combined with the temperament of life restoration (Earth Phase). The combination of Water Phase and Wood Phase cancels out any resistance or weakness to Metal Phase.
Ability/Backstory: Capable of manipulating death (Prolonged)
The ability of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). There is no noticeable difference between her ability and the abilities of Yuyukos from other worlds. No matter how much spring she gathers, she is destined to never meet the daughter of Fujimi. The 7th Prolonged Incident It started as the Spring Snow Incident, one of the many incidents that disrupted temperament. Yuyuko was the mastermind who trapped Gensokyo in an extra-long winter (even though it was Youmu who did most of the work). The scariest thing about this incident is that no matter how much spring Yuyuko gathered, her wish would never come true. Making the Saigyou Ayakashi fully bloom to free the daughter of Fujimi would cause Yuyuko to disappear completely. This means that if nobody stopped her, she would continue gathering spring until she could gather no more. But where is the limit? Would Yuyuko disappear before she managed to take every trace of spring from all the other Otherworlds? Or would the entire universe end before she even got close? Fujimi's daughter, who can only be freed when the Saigyou Ayakashi fully blooms, is, in fact, Yuyuko's corpse sealed beneath the tree. If the seal breaks, Yuyuko will cease being a ghost, revive as a human, and her body will age a thousand years. In other words, the moment she revives, she will turn to dust. The Saigyou Ayakashi cannot, under any circumstances, be allowed to bloom. Youki Konpaku and Yukari Yakumo knew this, so they must have taken precautions. Perhaps they tried to tell Youmu, but considering her inexperience, she probably misunderstood and didn't realize that she could prevent Yuyuko from disappearing by pruning the Saigyou Ayakashi. Youmu is completely unaware of the positive influence she has over Yuyuko's fate. If the Saigyou Ayakashi awakens, Yuyuko will disappear, but what about everyone else? Yuyuko's disappearance spells a game over, so it's hard to imagine what might happen after that. The Saigyou Ayakashi regaining its petals is essentially the same as it regaining its youth. In the past, the Saigyou Ayakashi was a greater youkai that enthralled people with its beauty, causing them to sacrifice their lives to feed its roots. So, surely this will happen again, only this time it could be much, much worse.

Attacks

Ghostly Stupor

The Spread Shot of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She loses herself to the spring temperament in this attack. Nobody really understood why Yuyuko caused the Spring Snow Incident. Even Youmu, her bodyguard-slash-gardener-slash-teacher, seemed to think it was just another one of her whims. Yuyuko is driven by feelings hidden so deeply inside her that they are a mystery perhaps even to herself. All that's known for certain is that she really wanted to meet Fujimi's daughter. But why?

Spirit Butterfly Invitation

The Focus Shot of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She absorbs her opponents' spring temperament and tempts them to die. Yuyuko has existed as a ghost for a thousand years, so it is almost impossible for an ordinary human to understand what goes through her mind. Perhaps she wanted a friend. But she already has Yukari. Maybe she wanted a family. But she already has Youmu. Then again, ghosts are former humans, and just like humans, their actions aren't always driven by wants or needs. The converse is also true. Sometimes they don't act even when they need to. Perhaps it really did all start as a simple whim.

Dead Village: Death of One's Home -Suicide-

A Spell Card of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world of heavy spring snows. She loses herself to the spring temperament in this attack. Yuyuko no longer has her memories from when she was human, from when she was alive. Some believe she was the daughter of Saigyou, but then why is her last name Saigyouji? Perhaps she was the daughter of a different poet. The biggest problem with her being the daughter of Saigyou is that the dates don't line up with the secondary true data. Saigyou died 800 years ago, but Yuyuko is supposed to have been dead for a thousand years. Only Yukari, who knew Yuyuko from before she died, knows the truth. All that's really known about Yuyuko's father is that he was an incredibly gifted poet who happened across Gensokyo in his travels. From this, it can be inferred that he was quite an adventurous individual. Maybe he only called himself a poet to hide the fact that he was actually a professional youkai exterminator. That might help explain how the Saigyou Ayakashi, which was presumably growing somewhere in Gensokyo, ended up in Hakugyokurou's garden in the Netherworld after his death.

Resurrection Butterfly -80% Reflowering-

A Spell Card of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world of heavy spring snows. She absorbs her opponent's spring temperament and tempts them to die. Perhaps it is Yuyuko's memories from when she was still alive that drive her to meet Fujimi's daughter. Yuyuko has the ability to tempt others to their death, which bears a stark resemblance to how the Saigyou Ayakashi's beauty once tempted countless people to lie down and die beneath its branches. Conversely, the record she found in Hakugyokurou's library that mentioned Fujimi's daughter tempted Yuyuko to live.

Saigyouji Parinirvana - Peach Blossom Spring

The Last Word of Yuyuko Saigyouji from the world of heavy spring snows (a Touhou LW original). She seeks the last sprinkling of spring in this attack. Yuyuko and the daughter of Fujimi are like Achilles and the tortoise. Given enough time, it feels like Yuyuko should be able to meet her, but she never will. Time, divided into infinitely smaller chunks, creates a singularity that wouldn't otherwise exist. Yuyuko is obsessed with gathering spring in order to meet Fujimi's daughter, but this obsession also brings her great joy that could potentially last forever. Her never-ending conceptual journey toward the Omega Point is not bound by constraints of time or space, meaning her hair can grow longer, and she can grow taller. The spring she has collected has become so dense that its gravitational pull has trapped Yuyuko in a dream, a delusion of distorted spacetime. The only way to free her is to fight against gravity itself.
