I've still got a lot to learn, and being half-human and half-phantom, I work with my perfectly round phantom half closely like we're in a three-legged race... but now that I think about it, neither of us actually has legs. Well, I suppose that's fine. I've heard phantoms aren't supposed to have legs anyway. Huh? Does that mean yukkuris are phantoms? Yukkuri Yuyuko, please explain!

Temperament: Aozora!
Aozora! (a Touhou LW original) refers to a beautiful, clear blue sky. Often seen in early spring, it is also called "souten."
A cloudless sky can be a sign of a pure and honest heart, but it can also represent emptiness. This reflects Yukkuri Youmu's straightforward nature and her lack of independence. She is endowed with Metal Phase, associated with the two swords she always carries, and Star Essence, as one who follows the yukkuri overseer of the Netherworld.
The cold and silent Metal Phase resists Earth Phase, because earth bears metal, but it is weak to Fire Phase, because fire refines metal.
The diverse and uncooperative Star Essence resists the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence, but it is weak to the alluring and arrogant Sun Essence.
Ability/Backstory: Capable of taking it easy
Yukkuri Youmu's ability (a Touhou LW original). The "capable of taking it easy" ability held by yukkuris incorporates a toned-down version of their Yukkuri Master's signature ability. This means Yukkuri Youmu is also capable of taking it easy at swordsmanship.
One of the fundamental principles of swordsmanship is that the surest path to victory is to avoid fighting altogether. When an opponent yields without blades ever crossing, it ensures an unquestionable win. By definition, this is absolute victory.
By fully mastering the art of taking it easy at swordsmanship, one's movements become almost completely still, allowing victory without ever moving the blade. Perhaps Youmu Konpaku's pursuit of such an ideal was inherited by Yukkuri Youmu.

The hint of spring lulls the opponent into letting their guard down, only for her human and phantom halves to ride the spring winds back and forth and sandwich them in an uncharacteristically surprising attack that oddly leaves them feeling at ease.

The Last Word of Yukkuri Youmu (a Touhou LW original). A delayed unconventional slash, unlike any of the techniques Youmu Konpaku uses. The slashes meant to trap the enemy instead twist and tangle, under an unknown force. Like a cat's cradle made of blades, they end up trapping their own wielder in a spectacle born from the Moon's reflected madness.

Skill: Dual Blade Rend
With yukkuri-sized Roukanken and Hakurouken, Yukkuri Youmu can cut just about anything. She's not nearly as dexterous as Youmu, though, so cutting things cleanly is difficult, and they usually end up shredded to pieces instead.

She believes that improving her skills requires casting away all stray thoughts. She concentrates so hard on doing so that she fails to notice she's missed the point entirely.
