Character Information

Temperament: Sengetsu
Sengetsu (a Touhou LW original) refers to a very thin or a crescent Moon. This is a perfect temperament for Tamayorihime, who prays for the resurrection of a certain individual. This temperament was meticulously redesigned with Dr. Eirin's somewhat suspect super-science. "Moon emissary, Watatsuki no Yorihime, frame in. ...Did I do that right?" (Strong against Earth Phase.) "Since you're here, let me tell you about Lord Gion." (Strong against Fire Phase.) "Lord Gion, aka Susanoo, is the strongest god in all of history..." (Strong against Wood Phase.) "...So yeah, that's all the basic stuff you need to know. Why do you look so confused?" (Weak to Water Phase.)
Ability/Backstory: Capable of summoning divine spirits (Egg)
The ability of Watatsuki no Yorihime from the world obsessed with resurrection (a Touhou LW original). There is no notable difference between her ability and the abilities of other worlds' Yorihimes. In this world, she often uses her ability to control her Frame Archive. Frame Archives are combat gear specialized for resurrection-type battles of bullets. It's said that the history used in their creation was excavated from the Youkai Mountain on Earth. Though there's another theory: that it was actually excavated somewhere on the Moon. These two theories may seem total opposites, but in truth, they're strikingly close. The reason it's so hard to tell which is correct is that information from Earth flows to the Moon... via the Youkai Mountain. At least three people besides Dr. Eirin were involved in developing the Frame Archives. One of them is Yuiman Asama, the driving force of the Asama Purifying Mountain. She's likely the one who transmits information to the Moon. And if Yuiman was required to perform tasks outside of her usual parameters, then Ariya Iwanaga's help would have been essential as well. On top of that, the compressed historical data would need to be decompressed, meaning they must have also managed to secure the help of Keine Kamishirasawa. Considering she is, in part, a divine beast under the Moon's magical control, it would hardly be surprising if she had a hidden connection to all this. There's a strong possibility that all of them were involved not just in the manufacture, but also in the design of the Frame Archives. For example, Ariya's power of immutability could allow Keine to observe far deeper layers of history. It's easy to imagine they combined their powers in other ways, too. From Doctor Eirin's perspective, their cooperation would be seen as a part of the manufacturing process that functions almost mechanically. And in practice, it seems that's exactly what happened. It's possible there were other contributors, but with the current limits of available information, none can be confirmed. However, considering the composition of the Frame Archives, it wouldn't be surprising if a mineral specialist like Misumaru Tamatsukuri were involved. There's another mystery pertaining to the Frame Archives: Where on the Moon is the purified data received from Earth being stored? Susanoo Frame Archive This Frame Archive was developed exclusively for Yorihime. Since Susanoo's divine spirit is cataloged within her divine spirit summoning index (containing over eight million entries), it's safe to assume the two are highly compatible. Susanoo is one of the most powerful deities in all of Shinto mythology. What manifests here as a Frame Archive is likely just a bunrei―a fragment of his greater existence. The history used in its creation is that of Yamata no Orochi. That history was then mapped onto Susanoo. The Frame Archive's main weapon, Yamata no Orochi Archive, is a massive sword composed of eight segments, mirroring the eight heads of Yamata no Orochi. Eight as one. One as eight. A weapon that perfectly embodies the very identity of Yamata no Orochi.

Attacks

Yashiori Slice

The Spread Shot of Watatsuki no Yorihime from the world obsessed with resurrection (a Touhou LW original). She uses her divine combat gear in this attack. "And that's how the Frame Archives were created. Do you understand now, Yorihime?" "Yes. Thank you, Lady Yago―I mean, Doctor!" The shark-shaped AI built by Dr. Eirin responded in her exact voice and tone, answering any question it was given. Surely there's an extensive historical archive hidden somewhere on the Moon. After all, the Moon has been observing Earth for billions of years. So why dig up Earth's historical data all over again? ...Maybe they never did? After hearing the shark AI's explanation, Yorihime's doubts deepened.

Ame no Haba Slice

The Focus Shot of Watatsuki no Yorihime from the world obsessed with resurrection (a Touhou LW original). She uses her divine combat gear in this attack. Lord Gion, aka Susanoo, is a god known not just for his untamable power, but also for his sharp intellect. With my Frame Archive equipped, I'm sure I'm drawing on at least some of his divine power. Lady Yagokoro even said as much―through the shark AI, of course. "His power can be reined in with wisdom. You're the perfect person for the job, Yorihime." That's what she told me. And that means she probably knows what I'm about to do. In that case, there's no need to hold back.

Skeleton: Lord Gion's Goddess-Imprisoning Power

A Spell Card of Watatsuki no Yorihime from the world obsessed with resurrection (a Touhou LW original). She recalls the Age of the Gods in this attack. I combed through every page of my antique notebook. I even dug into the deepest layers of the moon rabbits' telepathic network. I didn't find much, but piece by piece, I gathered fragments of information and started connecting them. And what I uncovered... was that there were multiple histories.

Fossil: Kusanagi Tail Bone

A Spell Card of Watatsuki no Yorihime from the world obsessed with resurrection (a Touhou LW original). She recalls the Age of the Gods in this attack. In Gensokyo, they say a half-human half-beast compiles history beneath the moonlight. Meanwhile, in the outside world, history has been discovered and interpreted in various ways. So here, on the far side of the Moon, which version of history do we ascribe to? What does our history say about the Watatsuki family and our lineage? What about those ancient place names I came across during my research―Kibi, Awa, Kenu, Fusa? What about the names of the gods themselves? Toyotamahime, Tamayorihime, Yagokoro... what's our connection to them? I needed to find the source of the information we have.

Yamata no Orochi Archive

The Last Word of Watatsuki no Yorihime from the world obsessed with resurrection (a Touhou LW original). She recalls primordial serpent dragons in this attack. At the same time, I start noticing something. I noticed there were simple questions I had yet to ask. But once I noticed that, asking them was easy. Questions like... What are my sister's and parents' names? Where do they live? What do they do? How long do Lunarians live? Has anyone ever died and been sent to Lunar Hell? What's the relationship between the Lunarians and the divine spirits I summon? Are they Lunarians' bunrei? Do those Lunarians still live in the Capital? Is there a central facility that manages them? All those questions barely had time to form. Almost instantly, an answer appeared. At which point, both question and answer vanished, leaving nothing behind. "You really have grown wiser, Yorihime." I knew I'd reached some new level of understanding. But now, I'm back home, living as I always have with my sister. But I'd seen a glimpse of some underlying truth―that the Moon... was a giant egg? Before long, that idea faded, never to return again.

Skills

Skill: Hatchet Spine Mode

Apparently, dragon skeletons gradually get bigger and bigger. They say it's in preparation for their revival.

Skill: Spear Spine Mode

The constellation that circles the North Star is called Draco. Question: How does the North Star appear when viewed from the Moon?

Skill: Katana Spine Mode

Come to think of it, the Japanese word for a ship's keel is written as "dragon bone." That realization was all it took for Yorihime to see the connection between Toyohime's fan and a ship.
