Shinju-Bogumo (a Touhou LW original) refers to iridescent clouds that form in the stratosphere, shimmering like mother-of-pearl. This is a fitting temperament for Junko, the motherly sagacious spirit whose love for her family purifies at the start of summer. All beings in the world are her children. (No Element weaknesses or strengths.) But Udon has a special place in her heart.
The ability of Junko from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). This ability doesn't seem any different from the Junko of our world's ability. Junko is a cosmic, sagacious spirit. According to secondary true data, she has been purified to the extent that she no longer requires a personal backstory. This is undoubtedly related to the purification of her resentment. However, whether her intense resentment or the general purification process alone would have led to the same result is unclear. Outside world texts suggest that the being known as Junko hails from a lineage descended from the gods. Specifically, she is from the bloodline of Fuxi and Nuwa―the ancestral deities of humanity―and Cangjie, the inventor of written language. Memories that have been purified can no longer be recalled correctly. Junko is living proof of that. She has been consumed by resentment for Chang'e and longs to defeat her. And yet, that resentment must be rooted in the past, even if that past has become warped beyond recognition. Secondary true data speaks of her as both a mother and a wife, and those aspects of her still remain in some form or another. In this world, they seem to have manifested as a distorted form of love. Though it's worth noting that is only the case for this world's Junko, and whether or not the emotion within her is actually love, is somewhat uncertain. In the beginning, the world had no names, and only once names were assigned did things truly begin. Purification is not merely the refinement of one's traits and characteristics―it is a return to that primordial, nameless state. The act of naming may act as a boundary, marking the end of the spring, which contains both birth and childhood, and the beginning of summer, when life comes into full bloom. In many ways, the evolution of a name is deeply tied to human growth. (The notion of being named only once at birth is actually a rather recent convention.) To be named is to take an irreversible step toward adulthood. Thus, purification can be said to grant eternal youth. To purify someone is to give them life, just as a mother does. In this Junko's world, people engage in battles of bullets, pretending to be mothers. Such is the latest trend in her Gensokyo. People jump on new trends out of fear of being mocked by those around them for being behind the times. In that sense, trends capitalize on people's insecurities. To someone like Junko, who wields the primordial power of purification, the whole thing is laughable. And yet, she found herself with no choice but to play by Gensokyo's rules. After all, Gensokyo is the opposite of origin and beginning―it is the land of arrival and of the end. Everyone winds up there eventually, and Junko is acutely aware of that fact. Udon Udon is one big bunny! She's most likely a type of giant rabbit. Rabbits are symbols of spring, and when they leap out of their burrows as the weather warms, they become symbols of rebirth. In other words, rabbits are metaphorical children. Udon is clever and well-behaved, so she doesn't run off or get in the way during battles. Her favorite food, of course, is carrots. Maternal Onyx Widow Maternal Onyx Widow is the battle support item of this world's Junko. On its own, it's just a model gun; though that's true for all battle support items in this world. For Junko to use a weapon, let alone one with a name, is highly unusual, but since they are required by the rules of Gensokyo, she is left with no choice. Maternal Onyx Widow replicates purification filtered through geological strata (i.e., the refinement of temperament), and the bullets fired from its barrel resemble cherry crystals. Although it might be more accurate to say that a process of pseudo-reincarnation―or rather, a process of birth in the primordial sense―takes place within it.
The Spread Shot of Junko from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She fires bullets that have been purified. When it comes to battles of bullets in this world, using a magic item like Junko's Maternal Onyx Widow as a weapon is a must. That may make such items sound like handheld game consoles, where each player needs to own one to participate. However, since everyone makes their own, they're more like dishes that each player brings to the "battle of bullets" potluck party.
The Focus Shot of Junko from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She fires bullets that have been purified. For someone as strong as Junko, being restricted in what items she can use would normally be a clear disadvantage. However, with battles of bullets being the sole means to resolve disputes, the difference is negligible. In this world, too, Junko gets along well with Hecatia and Clownpiece, and they are on the same page regarding a great many things. She seems to have partnered up with Seiga mostly out of curiosity, but they make a surprisingly good team.
A Spell Card of Junko from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She randomly calls upon her former divinity in this attack. This world's Junko appears to use senjutsu, yet strictly speaking, that isn't the case. What she's actually doing is tapping into the might she once held as a god at random. Having lost all memory of her days as a deity, she sees everyone and everything in the world that followed as her children. Her maternal instincts have grown so intense that, by this point, no one really knows what exactly she loves.
A Spell Card of Junko from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She randomly calls upon her resentment for her nemesis in this attack. What happens when resentment gets purified? You might think the flames of hatred simply grow ever more intense, and there's surely a Junko in some world who has experienced just that. However, this world's Junko has come to see Chang'e more like a rival mother. She believes that Chang'e is the mother of all rabbits. But why would that make them rivals?
The Last Word of Junko from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She attacks with bullets encased in Mother Onyx's love. As her purification advances, Junko loses track of herself. If a close friend were to examine her, perhaps they'd sense what even she cannot: that her resentment-driven life has become indistinguishable from one driven by all-consuming love. Love twisted into madness can look very much like hatred. Junko's husband was responsible for her son's death―as was his wife. Incidentally, some outside world texts mention Junko as another name for Chang'e.
Udon is a real rabbit. But where did Junko get her from?
Junko wears real fur, but she didn't kill an animal to get it. She's always had it.
Junko's battle support item is called Maternal Onyx Widow. No one remembers the wife with beautiful black hair. And they never will.
