Character Information

Temperament: Shokki

Shokki (a Touhou LW original) refers to the moment a total eclipse begins. This is a fitting temperament for Seiga, the motherly hermit, who cherishes her familial bonds as spring comes to an end. "Of course I'm as strong as steel. I'm a mother and a hermit!" (Strong against Metal Phase.) "This one. This one. Ooh, and this one, too. These will all make such great parts for Yoshika!" (Strong against Water Phase.) "Please, don't bury all those precious body parts. It's a tragic waste." (Weak to Earth Phase.)

Ability/Backstory: Capable of passing through walls (Nun)

The ability of Seiga Kaku from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). This ability doesn't seem any different from the Seiga of our world's ability. Seiga Kaku is a time-traveling wicked hermit. A secondary true data record states that she has great admiration for He Xiangu. According to outside world texts, He Xiangu was a Chinese hermit who existed after Toyosatomimi no Miko―or rather, the historical figure Miko is believed to be. It's possible that Seiga somehow traveled to the past and eventually came to serve Miko. Spring is the season of birth and nurturing, and as it draws to an end, there are many events tied to human connections. These include internationally celebrated events like Mother's Day and Japan-specific celebrations like Tango no Sekku. In Japan, the work and school year begins in April, and so by the time May rolls around, many people begin to experience emotional strain from their newly established relationships. This phenomenon is known as the May Blues. And then comes the rainy season, when moods grow heavy, and the order of daily life starts to fray. In this world's Gensokyo, humans and youkai engage in a certain kind of make-believe―an activity they very much enjoy. Despite their immaturity, they all pretend to be adults. Yet the more they pretend, the less like adults they seem. If anything, they start to seem more like children. Playing make-believe and battles of bullets are similar in the way that they keep their participants young. So long as they keep admiring and imitating adults, they never have to grow up. "Wait, wait. Wearing a cool dress, striking a pose with a gun, and heading to a party... That's not what adults do! But if those are the rules, guess I've got no choice but to play along." Tactical Beauty Mark (Shinzou Meridian Point) Seiga's fake beauty mark is a magic mole placed over a specific spot that stimulates the virtual organ known as the shinzou (lit. "divine depository"). As long as the spell remains intact, it can't be removed like an ordinary mole. The shinzou is a meridian point that governs the flow of kidney qi into the heart. It's also used to ease coughing and asthma. According to the principles of the Five Phases: - The overly powerful heart (Fire Phase) can be regulated by kidney qi (Water Phase). [Water overcomes Fire.] - The lungs (Metal Phase) stimulate the kidneys (Water Phase) to release their qi. [Metal generates Water.] Therefore, Seiga probably attached her fake beauty mark to strengthen her breathing's ability to regulate her heart rate. While her use of the shinzou beauty mark may seem like one of the more innocent forms of senjutsu, be warned: striking it may inflict serious internal damage on someone. Don't even think about trying it! Dead Man's Tolerance In this world's Gensokyo, using model gun-like support items to assist in battles of bullets is all the rage. They provide a way for individuals to forge their own unique battle styles, but their usage demands more spiritual and physical strength. Seiga uses them in conjunction with her vast Taoist skills and techniques to enhance her own power. Dead Man's Tolerance is the name of Seiga's battle support item. On its own, it's nothing more than a model gun, but when she wields it, it can fire various bullet patterns. In general, battle support items are crafted by the users themselves, often referencing firearm designs from the outside world based on personal preference. Seiga supposedly chose this particular design because it was especially efficient for converting spirits of the dead into bullets. She herself refers to it as a "chamber of rebirth" for said spirits.

Attacks

Guf Bullets

The Spread Shot of Seiga Kaku from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She reincarnates spirits of the dead in this attack. A magic item called Dead Man's Tolerance is the battle support item of choice for this world's Seiga. It houses spirits of the dead inside the magazine, using their reincarnation energy to fire them as bullets. The smoke that emerges from the barrel is likely the result of spiritual friction.

Fetal Bullets

The Focus Shot of Seiga Kaku from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She reincarnates spirits of the dead in this attack. In this world, Seiga is, of course, subservient to Miko, but when it comes to her work, she seems to operate with a fair degree of freedom. Her teaming up with Junko likely arose from the compatibility of their magic, and because she recognized just how powerful Junko is. With them both being mothers, they get on really well.

Hermit Arts: Sheltered Prodigy's Spirit

A Spell Card of Seiga Kaku from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She recalls her future husband in this attack. From the beginning, Seiga seemed far more interested in becoming a hermit and mastering senjutsu than in building a family and living a human-esque life. Perhaps she wished to live up to her name, which can be interpreted as something like "eternally young and beautiful." After all, hermits are beings of eternal youth. In fact, during her time in China, her abilities were strong enough to rival those of other hermits. In other words, she is a hermit of great talent who has honed her skills.

Evil Sign: Unfinished Tale of Nameless Daughters

A Spell Card of Seiga Kaku from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). She recalls her future children in this attack. Seiga was likely born long after Toyosatomimi no Miko and her companions lived. But that begs the question: How did she manage to travel to the past? Even Sakuya Izayoi can't do that! Most likely, she used some form of reincarnation. Not the proper kind, mind you―something far more reckless. That's the sort of thing a wicked hermit like her would be good at. Although it's worth noting that this is all based on speculation.

Dead Man's Tolerance

The Last Word of Seiga Kaku from the world delirious with compassion (a Touhou LW original). An embrace laden with compassion for the dead. Acquiring Yoshika as her corpse puppet may well have been a turning point in Seiga's life. Playing with dolls is a form of make-believe, but it's also a way to rehearse social behavior. Especially parenting. Deep down, Seiga is likely very aware that she has lost a part of herself. But what she lost cannot be reclaimed. And what she discarded cannot be retrieved. If that's the case, then surely Yoshika will understand her. ...Then again, she's a literal zombie, so perhaps it's best Seiga doesn't get her hopes up!

Skill: Fake Beauty Mark

Seiga's fake beauty mark activates her shinzou (written with the Japanese characters for "divine" and "depository"), a virtual organ. In terms of magic, the beauty mark would be classified as a physical enhancement.

Passive: Motherhood (Wicked Hermit)
Passive: Raising Spirits via Spirit Signals
