Character Information

Temperament: Pre-Slip
Pre-Slip (a Touhou LW Original) refers to the precursor of an earthquake. This is an apt temperament for this Koishi, who is obsessed with playing the villain. Unconventional ideas have caused her Phases and Essences to change. "Don't you see? Your feelings have nothing to do with this." (Strong against Fire Phase.) "Why are you trying to talk about completely unrelated things?" (Weak to Water Phase.) "Do you really think you can just brush this aside?" (Weak to Wood Phase.) "There you go again. You're trying to force your logic on me." (Weak to Sun Essence.)
Ability/Backstory: Capable of manipulating the unconscious mind (Fallen)
The ability of Koishi Komeiji from the world obsessed with pretend villainy (a Touhou LW original). This ability seems practically the same as the Koishi of our world's ability. Unable to comprehend the appeal of being evil, Koishi awkwardly imitates a semblance of villainy founded on misunderstandings. There is no season when villainy is in ascendance. However, looking back over history, autumn seems to be the best season for stealing things. It's the time when fully-grown crops are harvested. Before that, they are not yet fully grown, and after the harvest, you'd have to break into a storehouse to get them. Autumn is also a season of abstractions, making it the perfect time to fudge the numbers to steal profits or make others shoulder your losses. What is evil? Koishi Komeiji had no idea. It's actually quite difficult―almost impossible even―to draw a clear divide between good and evil. You must consider the ethics, societal norms, and religious connotations. The concept of good and evil probably originated around the time when humans first started living in large groups. The group would fall apart if anyone could steal with impunity. It would be chaos. Most crimes are regarded as such because of similar primitive reasons. It's the emotional side of things that came later. Without law and order, society would collapse, bringing civilization, the government, the economy, and the future crashing down with it. People are only able to live in relative safety and comfort, believing in a brighter and happier future, because of the ordered, rules-based society that was established and continually improved by their forebears. So, you could define evil as any threat that could reverse this progress or destroy this society. But is it really that simple? Highly ordered societies, where people exploit the loopholes in the rules for their own benefit, can also feel evil. On the other hand, revolutions or reforms that challenge or innovate upon underdeveloped laws could be considered good. This seems to contradict the proposed definition of evil. Do rules even have to be followed? What does following the rules even mean? Rules generally leave some room for interpretation. Otherwise, they wouldn't work. However, this makes them infinitely more complicated and confusing. It can lead to a range of debates, from whether exploiting the rules is following the rules to whether it's more important to follow the spirit of the rules rather than the rules themselves. It's not known whether Koishi did research to try to understand evil or if she's even capable of conscious thought, but if she did, it would not help her for all the reasons listed above. But this isn't a problem unique to Koishi. Anyone else would feel just as lost. Are youkai evil? Are humans good? There are some good youkai, and there are some evil humans. Do youkai even consider themselves to be evil? Some might, but even if they're evil from a human perspective, it's possible that some youkai don't think of themselves as being good OR evil. It's generally thought that humans eating plants and animals to survive is neither good nor evil, but it's probably evil from the perspective of those they eat. Then again, it's possible that domesticated animals and crops feel gratitude to the humans that raised them. Before humans developed agriculture, they hunted under the light of the Moon. Providing food for their families was a good thing, but from the perspective of the wild animals that were mercilessly slaughtered, it was evil. However, being thankful for the food they provided, and consuming it all without wasting a morsel, is a good thing. This is all assuming that animals have any concept of good or evil, where it's just as likely that humans simply imagine that they do. Are humans trying to make up for their evil acts by performing good ones? Or do they pretend the evil acts never happened, so they can feel good about themselves? What is good, and what is evil? There is no simple answer...

Nobody Cares How I Feel

The Last Word of Koishi Komeiji from the world obsessed with pretend villainy (a Touhou LW original). She pretends to be a villain in this attack. As Koishi was trying to understand what being a bad girl meant, she came across a girl from another world. Apparently, she was on an interworld journey to find things she desperately needed. But what caught Koishi's eye was her black, frilly clothes, which looked incredibly cool. Her face also looked remarkably like Koishi's. It was like she was looking in a mirror. "There's no point taking anything from you. I already have everything you could offer." Koishi had no idea what she was talking about, but for some reason, it kind of ticked her off. "Instead, I'll give you this. I've got spares, so I don't need it." The girl pulled something out of her chest and put it in Koishi. The next moment, she was gone. That was when Koishi realized that she could become a bad girl if she copied her! However, she was unable to do so because all her memories of this encounter soon faded, leaving only her desire.
