Character Information

Temperament: Kuroi Noumu
Kuroi Noumu (a Touhou LW original) refers to the dense fog of the end that is as black as night. Remilia's temperament deviates from the usual laws of Phases and Essences. She is weak against Sun Essence with its governance of day, Fire Phase with its purification properties, and Metal Phase with its power to defeat evil. She is strong against Moon Essence and Star Essence, with their governance of night, as well as Earth Phase, with its position as the origin of immortality.
Ability/Backstory: - Ability Unknown -
The ability of Remilia Scarlet (D8) from Memory Fragment 5 (a Touhou LW original). Unlike the abilities of other Remilias, this Remilia's ability is shrouded in mystery. Originally, her ability was the same as that possessed by other Remilias. However, it became unidentifiable when her fate came to an end, and she turned into a fragment of memory. The Final End is the end of all worlds, all possibilities, and all fates. This dreadful irony wasn't lost on Remilia when she set out on her journey to try and avoid it. When something ends, it can always start anew if the thing itself caused that end. This is because a record is kept within it, and this can be restored. However, this isn't necessarily the case if the end was caused by an outside force. This Remilia shared the exact same fate as another Remilia until right before the end. This is a trait shared by all beings known as memory fragments. However, it is still not known why their fates ended prematurely. The following is an excerpt of a report divined from the tears Remilia shed just before the end. It was found drifting between worlds and has been restored. "Mode Fafnir disengaged... Return to me, Gungnir." All of Remilia's magic returned to her hand. She couldn't remember the last time she exhaled so deeply without bracing herself or expending any magic. And with her mastery over fate, she knew she would never feel nervous or on edge again. That was the fate she had ended up with. But that fate no longer existed. It was over. Everything had ended. "Elysium..." Remilia had assumed that her fate would end instantly, like the flame of a candle blown out by the wind. But that wasn't what happened. The closer she got to the end, the slower time passed, until it practically stood still. It was like she was infinitely falling into a black hole. Nothing moved, and all locations were infinitely distant. Everything around her was stretched out indefinitely, but at some point, all she could see was a noisy mosaic. Then everything disappeared, and she found herself in a place wholly unexpected. She was in Elysium. It was her Gensokyo. That was her name for it. She was not ashamed to say that she needed Gensokyo. Everyone who had experienced it would say the same. She desperately wanted to return there, but she couldn't. So, at her wits' end, she made a copy. She wanted it to look as close as possible to the real thing, but she only half succeeded because her memories had already started to fade and lose their vibrancy. That was her Gensokyo, her Elysium. It was a world of eternal scarlet night, where the blanket of scarlet mist blended with the sky, and the scarlet Moon was the sole source of light. There was a town that stretched on forever, made up of red brick buildings. They were separated by flower patches watered by a rain of blood that would fall from time to time. Remilia saw her Elysium pass before her eyes. It kept getting faster as if someone or something was mercilessly pulling it along. Giving Remilia no time to reflect on what once was, it swept past her in a violent storm. Somehow, she knew she would forget this experience, too. It would not last forever. That is what her fate, which had been reduced to ashes, told her. "No way! That's...!" Remilia couldn't understand it. All the things she had tried so hard to remember but couldn't, flew past her. She saw the terrace where she'd sit and have tea with Patchy. The gate where she'd talk to Meiling about their favorite comics. The path through the garden that she'd stroll down as Sakuya held her parasol. The Scarlet Devil Mansion's archive, which Koakuma would keep organized. They all zoomed past her, getting farther and farther away... "Flandre..." Their eyes met. Flandre was waiting for her on the balcony. She wanted to go to her, but the next moment... she was gone. [The report ends here.] Fafnir Dragon Spear (50%) This is the name of one of Gungnir's forms that Remilia created by adjusting its fate repeatedly. It's a bit confusing, but even in this form, Gungnir is still Gungnir. Remilia merely calls it Fafnir when it exudes a draconic aura. Gungnir doesn't actually have a set physical form. It is a concept that Remilia materializes with her magic. This means Remilia can freely change its properties and what it can do by adding magic from other sources. Dragon blood is not only a highly concentrated source of magic, but it can also be imbued with many fates by rewriting its genetic information. Remilia believed this would make Fafnir the ultimate weapon, capable of countering the Final End. Dragon Bones? Apparently, they're dinosaur fossils imbued with evil souls, which is how vampires traditionally made their familiars. Remilia knew them to be dinosaur fossils, but her idea of what a fossil is was different from the common conception of fossils in the outside world. She believed that fossils were the dormant state of giant creatures that roamed the land long ago. They were simply waiting for the right moment to come back to life. They can be used as an energy source because they are packed full of grudges and grievances. Also, since fossils are creatures that have become stone, they are the purview of the goddess of permanence, Iwanagahime. Remilia felt that all these factors might help her avoid the Final End, and that is why she gathered them.

Attacks

Vampiric Dragon's Familiars

The Spread Shot of Remilia Scarlet (D8) from Memory Fragment 5 (a Touhou LW original). She commands her familiars, created from dragon blood, to attack. Remilia knew that she and Flandre had to work together. Her ability to manipulate fate wasn't enough to save them. They were on rails, heading toward destruction, and their only chance was to break away from convention. Destruction holds infinite possibilities. The birth of the universe and the evolution of life were surely caused by some kind of destructive event.

Remilia couldn't understand what made Flandre so strong. Was it her ability, her memories, or something else entirely? Regardless, she knew that Flandre didn't set out on their journey to become like this. Who or what caused this? She had no one to blame and no past to reclaim. All she was left with was regret. She should've watched over her little sister more closely.

Was there nothing she could've done to prevent this? Remilia didn't have any answers. All she could do now was try to find some way to help her sister. Somewhere along the way, that had become her main objective. She would fix Flandre, and then they would combine their abilities to avoid their final fate. And then... She didn't know what they'd do then.

Descendant of Dracul

The Last Word of Remilia Scarlet (D8) from Memory Fragment 5 (a Touhou LW original). She attacks with memories that became fragmented when she reached the halfway point in achieving her goal. No one had ever experienced anything like this big incident before. But Remilia discovered that it would lead to something she called the Final End. With her mastery of fate, she knew that no matter what, this end could not be avoided. It was too peculiar and too unnatural. Comparing it to a bullet battle attack, it would surpass any of the Impossible Spell Cards. It would be like if your opponent recklessly fired a bullet big enough to cover the entire world. There's nowhere you could fly to dodge it. But how could such a thing happen? Sifting through the sands of fate, Remilia could only see darkness―the darkness of despair. She had to do something... but what?
