Character Information

Temperament: Ake no Myoujou
Ake no Myoujou (a Touhou LW original) refers to the planet Venus when it shines in the eastern sky before sunrise. This Sakuya was tasked with exterminating a powerful vampire known as the devil of fate. Her temperament has almost no connection to the natural laws of Phases. Sakuya is imbued with the temperament of Venus, one of the five planets readily visible from Earth. It is opposed to vampires as a mirror of the Sun (Sun Essence Inversed). Thus, Sakuya is strong against Moon Essence but weak to Star Essence.
Ability/Backstory: Capable of manipulating time (Distorted)
The ability of Sakuya Izayoi (E1) from Multiverse Trail 4 (a Touhou LW original). It's basically the same as the abilities belonging to most other Sakuyas. Fate is like a force directed by an amalgamation of memories. When memories deteriorate, fate changes, and if fate changes, memories must change to match. Memories are not simply records of the past; they are a guide, a compass, that can determine the future. Unfortunately, all information regarding the girl who calls herself Sakuya Izayoi is listed under that name. Memories shape one's fate, so the devil who changed her fate by giving her a name will not allow any memories from before this change to exist. This means that for as long as she carries this name, nothing about her previous life can be recorded. You cannot talk about or reference a nameless person. Even Junko, who erased her title, didn't go so far as to erase her name. Actually, that's not quite right. There are two beings, one in the Scarlet Devil Mansion and one at the nearby lake, who are often referenced in reports despite not having a name. The following is a report written by a nameless devil. It was found in an otherworldly library. "She's asleep..." Having checked that the girl was all right, the devil gatekeeper took off her coat and gently laid it across her. While the gatekeeper is often called a devil, she is technically something else. She has also been called a vampire, an affront to God. In fact, she was called that just a moment ago by the girl now sleeping soundly under her coat. But something strange had happened. Well, strange for other people, perhaps. She had grown used to it by now. "You changed her fate, didn't you, Remi?" "Yes, I named her Sakuya Izayoi. A good name, don't you think?" "But how can you name someone you know absolutely nothing about...?" "That's exactly why I did it. Now, whatever life she lived before this moment no longer matters." "That's kinda twisted." The mistress known as the devil of fate and her friend, the devil of knowledge, were chatting like it was just any other night. The library devil was also standing nearby. They were all actual devils. A vampire, a magician since birth, and a devil devil. The library devil even claims to have come from Makai. Still, the events of that night really were strange. It was a mystery of their own devising that none of them could solve. "Now what?" Despite being what could only be considered the main culprit, the devil of fate tilted her head in confusion. By altering the sleeping girl's fate, she forgot everything about her. And the same applied to everybody else. None of them knew what her name was before, who she was, or how she got here. They don't even remember why the devil of fate decided to change her fate in the first place! If this were a mystery novel, it would be a total flop. "Let me propose a theory," said the devil of knowledge, sounding as if she had already grown tired of this whole situation. "This girl was a vampire hunter employed by the association. She used to be around the same size as us, but then she tripped, spilling a potion all over her. This potion made her shrink. That would explain why such a small child is here, equipped with vampire-hunting gear." The devil gatekeeper had another idea. "What kinda potion would shrink her clothes, too? I'm guessing this kid came here like this. I've heard that humans have grown exceptionally powerful in recent years, so even though she looks small, I bet she has already exterminated countless devils. You'd think she'd have at least a scar or two to show for them, but still." The devil of fate let out a big, dramatic sigh. "Nope. No good. You have to make it way more interesting than that!" Ignoring everyone else's confusion, she continued with a gleam in her eye. "First off, she was originally a girl in her late teens, who was really excited to try and exterminate me. She snuck into the servant quarters and stole a uniform. Then, disguised as a maid, she tried to sneak up on me and attack me with that potion, thinking it was holy water. But she tripped and splashed it all over herself. Turns out, the potion was actually a deadly poison. Being the merciful vampire that I am, I decided to save her from a horrible death by rewriting her fate. As for why she and her clothes shrank... That's probably because of an ability she's always had: time manipulation. She can also manipulate time to compress space. But when I changed her fate, her ability inadvertently triggered... What do you think?" She looked immensely happy with herself! It was a brilliant story, apart from the fact that it was impossible! "Umm, wow, what a great theory! My turn! Inside her big coffin, there's the corpse of the previous Scarlet Devil, the Great Scarlet Devil Duchess, and―" "You needn't bother, Koakuma." "Aww..." Looking around for someone to share her disappointment with, the library devil noticed that someone was missing: the mistress's little sister, the devil of destruction...

Eastern Elixir

The Spread Shot of Sakuya Izayoi (E1) from Multiverse Trail 4 (a Touhou LW original). She throws an unidentified potion. Vampire hunters existed. It used to be an actual profession. Vampires are far more powerful than humans, so to defeat them, they had to think outside the box. They had to use tools and techniques that pushed the limits of human understanding and ingenuity. Sakuya, the vampire hunter, continues to fight each night so that humanity may see the dawn!

Scarlet Devil Mansion Disappearance

The Focus Shot of Sakuya Izayoi (E1) from Multiverse Trail 4 (a Touhou LW original). She breaks into a devil's mansion. Many names are thrown about when talking about vampire hunters: the company, the association, the institution, the society. But nobody knows if they're the same organization, rivals, or completely unrelated. However, they all share the same fervent desire: to eradicate devils from the face of the Earth. There is also a fairly convincing rumor that at least one of these organizations is run by a religious institution, yet they employ heretics and foreigners to act as their hunters.

Secret Skill: Professor's Method

A Spell Card of Sakuya Izayoi (E1) from Multiverse Trail 4 (a Touhou LW original). A professional vampire hunter teaches her opponents a lesson. Apparently, the organization's hunters include a shaman from the East, a selfish magician who crafted her own spells, and a samurai. It isn't known how they got caught up in the vampire hunter business. Perhaps they had no other choice, or maybe they were driven by a sense of duty. This Sakuya's reasons for becoming a hunter are just as mysterious.

Secret Skill: Vampire Slaying Show

A Spell Card of Sakuya Izayoi (E1) from Multiverse Trail 4 (a Touhou LW original). She cuts apart a much more powerful being with ease. This Sakuya is tiny. At this size, she can't perform her job or her duty. And she has no idea how it happened, so she cannot even come up with a plan to fix it. In fact, it's doubtful that she'll even be able to survive without someone to take care of her and protect her. That said, she can still swing around a coffin twice her height.

Self-Deflation

The Last Word of Sakuya Izayoi (E1) from Multiverse Trail 4 (a Touhou LW original). This attack has been compressed due to her altered fate. The same can be said of all Sakuyas, but hardly anything is known about her life from before she was given that name. And that will never change because fate has decreed that Sakuya can only exist as Sakuya Izayoi. Her story was built on the presumption that her past will always remain a mystery. That's simply how fate works. Now, as for this Sakuya's fate specifically, she was safely welcomed as a new member of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and was doted upon by all who live there. It's nice to know that out of all her possible fates, at least one has a happy ending.
