Character Information

Temperament: Nanpuu
Nanpuu (a Touhou LW original) refers to a gentle breeze, the kind that lightly sways the branches of a tree. The armor created to preserve Daiyousei's magic and the lakeside air is forged from a substance unlike any real metal―a fabricated metal that functions almost like a spacesuit. This armor is essentially ultra-dense misty wind, Wood Phase refined until it is as strong and as impermeable as metal. Daiyousei is endowed with Wood Phase and Moon Essence, along with Metal Phase from her armored fairy form. The strong and kind Wood Phase resists Water Phase, because water nourishes wood, but it is weak to Metal Phase, because metal carves wood. The cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence resists the alluring and arrogant Sun Essence, but it is weak to the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence. The cold and silent Metal Phase resists Earth Phase, because earth bears metal, but it is weak to Fire Phase, because fire refines metal.
Ability/Backstory: - Ability Unknown -
The ability of Daiyousei, the armored fairy (a Touhou LW original). This ability was originally the power to swim through mist. Daiyousei of this world is believed to possess the very same power, but any record of it has disappeared from the surface-level information. Fairy Moot Far out on an island at the western edge of this world stands a massive ring of boulders. No one knows what it was originally called, who built it, or why it was created. Structures like this appear all over the world, and this one is simply another of those. The fairies placed the Charter Monolith inscribed with all the Spell Card Rules at its center after it suddenly fell from the sky... or perhaps that's just where it happened to land. Either way, the site was already considered the heart of Fairyland. They say the shock of the monolith's impact instantly drained the sacred lake enclosed by the ring of boulders. ...Or maybe that's not how it happened either. Another version of the story claims that the lake dried out first, and the monolith rose from the exposed lakebed soon after. Fairies love a good rumor, but lack the human sense for careful observation. Accuracy and verification are foreign notions to them. Trying to grasp the truth behind any fairy-related event is like chasing smoke. The actual incident might have been far more catastrophic... or so trivial that no one would have cared. Only a handful of fairies ever showed interest in the Charter Monolith. Fairies are easily bored, so even when something catches their eye, the fascination rarely lasts. Only a tiny handful stayed interested long enough to notice the monolith wasn't just a stone―there were letters carved into it. Fairies who attempt to read are almost unheard of. Words are abstract and refer to things that aren't right in front of you, so most fairies see no value in them. And yet, thanks to just a few persistent fairies, the Spell Card Rules were eventually deciphered. How many years that took is anyone's guess. Some records state that by playing according to the Spell Card Rules, Fairyland secured its eternal future. Yet other sources mention a Fairy Queen showed up and revealed the monolith's teachings. And there's even a version that credits the Fairy Sages with the same revelation. With such conflicting records, it is difficult to determine which story reflects the truth. Apparently, all that happened before the fantasy faded and the Scarlet Devil departed, leaving behind only the magical scarlet mist. But the order of those events changes depending on which fairy's record you read. The fact that fairies wrote any of this down at all might be praiseworthy in itself.

Attacks

Sword of Benevolence

The Spread Shot of Daiyousei, the armored fairy (a Touhou LW original). She unleashes benevolence that radiates from within her armor. Fairies exist in vast numbers and typically have no names, much like how rain, rivers, trees, and wind have no specific names. They exist without the need to distinguish one from another. Naming is a concept linked to individual identity. And precisely because she has no name, she is the one who can truly represent unconditional love.

Shield of Compassion

The Focus Shot of Daiyousei, the armored fairy (a Touhou LW original). She unleashes benevolence that radiates from within her armor. Because Cirno stands out so much for her antics, other fairies are often mistaken for being smarter or more reasonable. But the truth is that all fairies are impulsive tricksters. No matter how composed they may look or sound, they remain perilous fantasy creatures capable of deceiving humans―or even toying with their very lives.

Love Sign: Merciful Piercer

A Spell Card of Daiyousei, the armored fairy (a Touhou LW original). She unleashes benevolence that radiates from within her armor. Fairies may be far weaker than humans in raw strength, but they can still become lethal threats. They are no different from nature itself. A sprinkle of rain or a passing breeze is harmless, but a torrential downpour can cause landslides, and a mighty gale can rip buildings from their foundations.

Love Sign: Beneficent Citadel

A Spell Card of Daiyousei, the armored fairy (a Touhou LW original). She unleashes benevolence that radiates from within her armor. The forces of nature are ever-present, serving as a merciful foundation that sustains human life. But when they converge, they become a ruthless force that can strip humanity of everything. Weak fairies can cause the same effect when they act together. Or perhaps, it may be the result of beings with tremendous power―greater fairies, aka daiyousei.

Order for Charity

The Last Word of Daiyousei, the armored fairy (a Touhou LW original). Long ago, humans lived in harmony with nature, trusting it to guide and protect them. When they lived with humility, nature returned that kindness, and when they grew arrogant, it pushed back. As the mother of all life, nature wished only for everything to flourish. But humans couldn't accept that. They carved nature apart and polluted it, desperate to find a way to bend the great natural world to their will. That struggle continues even now and will last until humanity meets its end. And through it all, nature still waits. Though perhaps it may already be far too late.
