Character Information

Temperament: En-u

En-u (a Touhou LW original) refers to rain so fine that it appears to form a thin mist. This is the temperament of Marisa, the interworld traveler. "Rain travels along the leaves before dripping down, so water ends up falling unevenly across the ground. As magical organisms, mushrooms tend to sprout in the dampest spots. The colonies of mushrooms that form this way are intricately connected by expansive networks of mycelium. Once the rain passes, the night sky reveals countless shining stars. Stars, too, form clusters which are connected by invisible threads. I read all about it in a book called Magical Principles of the Star System Worldview." "My roots lie in rain, forests, and magic." (Strong against Water Phase, Wood Phase, and Moon Essence.) "Compared to the other Marisas, you think I'm kinda damp? Like a mushroom?! ...Just don't lay me out in the Sun and turn me into a DRIED mushroom, OK?" (Weak against Sun Essence.)

Ability/Backstory: Capable of using magic?

The ability of Marisa Kirisame, the interworld traveler. The path she has traveled is so bizarre that much about how she differs from other Marisas remains unknown. Among the group known as the Interworld Travelers, her explanations of things are the most detailed and thought-out. That said, it seems she isn't a very good teacher. This Marisa researches both the Star System interpretation and Foundlings. She also serves as the strategist for the group known as the Interworld Travelers. She has a distinct air of intelligence that perhaps separates her from regular Marisas. But in truth, she is only thought of as a strategist by a select few―predominantly because of her appearance and manner of speech―while she herself proclaims to be nothing more than a firepower supremacist who believes in raw power above all else. Anyone who expects her to act as nerdy as she looks might be in for a surprise. Her fellow interworld travelers have lost count of how many times they thought she was about to calmly negotiate a ceasefire, only for her to suddenly fire off a Master Spark. This Marisa may research the Star System interpretation and Foundlings, but she wasn't the first to propose either of them. It's just that, for now, she's the most knowledgeable about them within the Interworld Travelers group―at least, she should be. In the future, she might share more details regarding her research results... if she feels like it. One thing she definitely doesn't want to talk about, though, is Alice. Not now that she's been lost.

To obtain it, you have to go up against the world and win. Interworld travel, the ability of dragons, losing your name, and merging with the world―it's a hard story to believe. But... I feel like Kourin once told me a similar one. I can't tell where the story ends and the freakishly big incident begins. So what now? Our true test has already begun.
