Character Information

Temperament: Dyson Tree
Dyson Tree (a Touhou LW original) refers to a hypothetical genetically modified plant that creates a habitable environment on comets. This is an apt temperament for Yuuka, the professor who creates kaiju. This temperament resists the Capital (Moon Essence) and the rebels (Earth Phase).
Ability/Backstory: Capable of manipulating flowers (Mutation)
The ability of Yuuka Kazami (H5) from Multiverse Trail 7 (a Touhou LW original). Compared to the original Yuuka Kazami, something unusual has happened to her ability. Professor Yuuka refuses to explain, so the following is conjecture. The youkai, Yuuka Kazami, was revived in response to the Capital's demands. There were several objectives, but the major ones were to unlock the secrets of the multi-dimensional neural network and to assign her a specific, functional role. Her fixation on kaiju can likely be attributed to those objectives. When she was first summoned to the Capital, she was likely still incomplete and may have looked like a child. The restoration should have continued until she resembled the usual Yuuka Kazami. This particular fragment of fate, however, appears to follow the path where that never happened. It is possible that the condition called dreaming disease may have interfered with her growth. What follows is a record reconstructed from traces preserved on unidentified kaiju merchandise. "Hmmm... This makes no sense at all!" Yuuka couldn't risk damaging her beloved botanical computer, the Botacom, so she vented her frustration by stamping her feet. This caused no damage whatsoever, as she's far too light. In the dead of night, when even grass and trees sleep, the quiet breathing of plants filled the room. Only her desk was aglow, illuminated by a luminous plant serving as a lamp. She believed she had made considerable progress in understanding the multi-dimensional neural network. But she had merely climbed the first mountain. Beyond it rose peak after peak in endless succession―despair structured like a fractal. Or perhaps the multi-dimensional neural network was nothing more than a path, and she had already come into contact with the abyss beyond it. She sensed that her remaining lifespan would never suffice to investigate it fully. There was simply not enough time. The despair of not having enough time is crushing. No matter how desperately one struggles, the wish to see what lies beyond will never be fulfilled. It is an absolute rejection―one that undermines researchers at their very core. But the anguish of those who dedicate themselves to pursuing knowledge goes far deeper than that. "...But I can't stop." In the beginning, Yuuka was simply fascinated with the idea of creating kaiju. Being an intellectual does not mean one endlessly thinks everything through. If anything, the more intelligent a person is, the more aware they become of the limits of their own understanding. If intelligence were to be made perfect, its ultimate form would resemble a pebble by the roadside. A pebble never makes mistakes, never misjudges, never does anything wrong. The very act of wanting to know something is proof that one does not already know it. A being that knows everything would not need to interact with the outside world. Such a being would be no different from a stone. Yuuka can't clearly explain why she wants to create kaiju. She simply had an urge to do it. That is why she began investigating the multi-dimensional neural network, and why she continues to do so. She believes it'll allow an old youkai such as herself to regain the body and power of a kaiju, and pursue the paradise her kind once desired. She had never stopped to consider what she'd do once she achieved that. If she ever lacked a purpose, she would simply find another. The fact that she may no longer even have the need to do so is, in its own way, rather unfortunate. The point is, she would never abandon her pursuit simply because she reached a dead end. As long as something remains unknown, she will try to understand it. Plants extend their roots for as long as they live, sometimes breaking even stone in the process. Even if death stood only a heartbeat away, she would not stop thinking. It is almost like a curse. But to learn is also a form of intellectual conquest. To know and understand is, above all else, her greatest pleasure. "Seems like I was the only kaiju I could create." She had begun talking to herself more often. Perhaps she wanted someone to hear her. But there was no one except the plants. Then again, she'd be happy if the plants were listening... though expecting anything from them went against her principles. She believes plants and everything that blooms should be free and unrestrained. She wondered what kind of beings would emerge if she were to revive youkai in the form of kaiju. In theory, any youkai could be revived. All it would take was data salvaged from the multi-dimensional neural network and the assistance of the plants. But something was missing, and she couldn't figure out what. "If only there were at least one more of me..." Another Yuuka... If that were possible, she would not be struggling. There is only one of her. Even if someone nearly identical to her existed, they would still possess an independent mind. Could she truly rely on such a being? No matter how close the resemblance, she wouldn't be able to trust them. It would only complicate matters. There was no reason to expect otherwise. So she dismissed the idea. But then she remembered that the multi-dimensional neural network was closely tied to parallel worlds. If it were a version of herself from another world, then perhaps that would not be another person, but simply herself. Why had she not noticed this sooner? She had considered parallel worlds before, but there had always been too many constraints, too many unknowns, and so she had dismissed them as something she didn't fully understand. If information from parallel worlds could be easily obtained, she would never have struggled in the first place. The sheer research cost, the time required, the overwhelming uncertainty... Acquiring knowledge was never simple. Had she begun sooner, things might have been different. There was no point in regretting it now. A true researcher cannot simply stop. "Botacom, once more. Just one more time." Her hands moved slowly across the controls. Her lifespan as a youkai was already nearing its end. Even the borrowed time from her restoration had its limits. She was deteriorating. She didn't have much time. But if she could at least make contact with herself in a parallel world... "...It failed." There was no response. But then― "...What is this?!" Images flooded into her mind. A stream of rainbow light. Gaudy, almost excessive, and strangely reminiscent of a flower field. Was it a connection of minds? A warp? Interworld travel? No, this was― "...I see. I was wrong about this all along." She realized the multi-dimensional neural network was the remains of an ancient being's nervous system. A lifeform vast enough to cover galaxies. Perhaps even the universe. Such a scale was almost beyond reason. It was overwhelming in size. And unsettlingly... maternal. Who could it have possibly been? The thought that it might've been someone familiar crossed her mind, but she rejected it outright. No such being existed among her acquaintances. Yet the evidence was undeniable. It was neural tissue. "So it turns out... it was exactly what its name implied."

Attacks

Shock Gun Shot

The Spread Shot of Yuuka Kazami (H5) from Multiverse Trail 7 (a Touhou LW original). She unleashes an attack using candies that come with kaiju toys. In the dead of night, when even grass and trees are asleep, the glow of her botanical PC illuminates her desk between rows of resting plants. Yuuka abandoned the Capital and wants nothing more to do with it. She feels it is impossible to conduct research in a place like that. She rejects even a single ounce of unnecessary stress because life is finite. If she doesn't devote herself to her research, she will regret it forever.

Seed Sign: First Kaiju's Memory and Ability

A Spell Card of Yuuka Kazami (H5) from Multiverse Trail 7 (a Touhou LW original). She has an incomplete theory on kaiju. In the dead of night, when even grass and trees are asleep, the glow of her botanical PC illuminates her desk between rows of resting plants. She no longer knows how many days have passed since she began this research. She discovered that data from plant youkai, such as the Saigyou Ayakashi, can be used to access the multi-dimensional neural network. Plants can perform parallel computation, and in terms of potential alone, they can effectively surpass a quantum computer. The problem lies in their speed. Slow calculations are meaningless. But what cannot be achieved through speed can be compensated for with quantity. And so she filled her laboratory with more plants, gathering every variety she could find. Each one may take its time, but together, they will produce the result she seeks.

Seed Sign: Ancient Kaiju's Memory and Ability

A Spell Card of Yuuka Kazami (H5) from Multiverse Trail 7 (a Touhou LW original). She has an incomplete theory on kaiju. In the dead of night, when even grass and trees are asleep, the glow of her botanical PC illuminates her desk between rows of resting plants. Not just any plant will do. They must be special, like the Saigyou Ayakashi. Ordinary plants live within three-dimensional space. Only supernatural plants can extend their branches and roots into the fourth dimension and beyond. Those branches and roots pierce the membranes between worlds, allowing them to exist in parallel across countless branes. Such realms are far beyond the reach of animals. Only plants, with their endless patience and steady effort, can attain it.

Bambusa Phantasm

The Last Word of Yuuka Kazami (H5) from Multiverse Trail 7 (a Touhou LW original). She establishes a conclusive theorem. She wanted to transform youkai into kaiju and to reach the promised land of Kaiju Island. The Capital was not a place worthy of such ambition. Something inside her had long rejected it. But in the end, the only result she achieved was turning herself into a kaiju. She wondered if what she felt was regret or sorrow. However, she realized that pain caused by overwhelming violence had always shattered every obstacle placed before her. And this time would be no exception.
