Hekiten (a Touhou LW original) refers to a cloudless sky. This is an apt temperament for Youmu, a gardener who enjoys festivals. Youmu plays her Crossed Swords (Metal Phase) as the amateur guitarist of the Netherworld band Hakugyokurou (Star Essence). The cold and silent Metal Phase resists Earth Phase, because earth bears metal, but it is weak to Fire Phase, because fire refines metal. The diverse and uncooperative Star Essence resists the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence, but it is weak to the charming and arrogant Sun Essence.

The ability of Youmu Konpaku from the world of music festivals (a Touhou LW original). It's basically the same as the abilities belonging to most other Youmus. After observing and learning from multiple failed attempts to prevent the Lost Word Incident from spreading, the denizens of this Youmu's world have decided to try and resolve it by holding music festivals. The Netherworld band Hakugyokurou is fresh on the scene! You may be wondering if two people count as a band, but it's not like there are any hard and fast rules about this kind of thing. Youmu plays the guitar while Yuyuko sings, dances, and does whatever else she feels like doing. It would be nice if the Saigyou Ayakashi could also contribute as a drummer, but it probably can't manage more than one or two beats per year. Hakugyokurou was behind one of the many concert incidents. They stole Gensokyo's spring in what was essentially a grand marketing campaign that spread the word about their band and forced people to attend their concert. As they gathered more and more spring, Yuyuko's performance grew ever more intense and electrifying. It created a unique atmosphere where the audience couldn't quite decide if it was best thing ever or if they should try to stop it. Yuyuko truly is the star of Hakugyokurou. She's a beautiful princess who's exceptionally skilled at singing and dancing. Youmu, her servant, was fine with that. Even if no one noticed her, she was happy to play the guitar by Yuyuko's side and support her. That was until Yuyuko said she would perform better if she were free to express herself. Yuyuko was insistent that she should try performing solo. Youmu wasn't at all confident and tried to argue that she wouldn't know what to do without Yuyuko on stage beside her. But then Yuyuko pointed out that she would never improve if she always relied upon her. Youmu realized the truth in Yuyuko's words. She thought she was shining on stage, but really, she was just reflecting Yuyuko's radiance. Still, that doesn't necessarily mean she could shine alone. Youmu couldn't believe anyone would want to see her half-baked guitar. "Youmu, what makes a performance good?" "Ummm, playing perfectly? Or with exceptional skill?" "Are you sure? Have you tried asking what other musicians think?" "No, that'd be kinda embarrassing..." "I see. Then that's what you should work on first." Youmu knew Yuyuko was right, but she still thought it was super unfair that she suddenly had to perform alone in front of everyone!
