Teijou-suberi (a Touhou LW original) refers to slow, aseismic tectonic plate slips in the subduction zone. Was there ever a future where this Koishi continued to live in the Palace of the Earth Spirits without her friends and family forgetting about her? Her temperament has almost no connection to the natural laws of Phases. Koishi has spent an impossibly long time spontaneously hopping between various worlds, making her an extremely old and experienced youkai. She has traveled through random layers of history, piled one atop the other like the strata of the Earth, cutting her off from the celestial temperaments. (Strong against Sun, Moon, and Star Essence.) However, she is ever at risk of being swallowed up by the very strata she explores. (Weak to Earth Phase.)
The ability of Koishi Komeiji from the buried city (a Touhou LW original). Unlike her original ability, this one has become laminated and made exceptional from countless embedded relics. The buried city is a completely isolated universe. Unlike most universes that are made up of a vacuum, hydrogen, and small percentages of other elements, this universe is completely made up of and encased in soil. There is an Underworld, but there is no surface. In this world, the Hell ravens keep the energy cycle turning, and the kasha do the same for the ecosystem. It is a world where reincarnation is triangular, cells are spiritual, and the slow flows of the mantle are controlled by a facility known as the Palace of the Earth Spirits. Satori Komeiji is the mistress of this palace, and the buried city is her city. It is believed that the satori youkai sisters used to look the same as they do in any other world, but over time, Satori started to shrink. This happened incredibly slowly at the rate of about one femtometre per year. Naturally, such a minute change went unnoticed. It would be like comparing the lifespans of humans to the universe. However, as the universe ended and started again, these changes continued to pile up little by little over each new iteration. Still, to realize that Satori had shrunk, you would have to know her former height, and living beings are unable to retain such specific memories from previous iterations. These memories are only kept in an encrypted state within the universe's unconscious mind. Breaking this encryption is equivocal to finding connections between seemingly unconnected objects, such as a roadside pebble and an Easter egg. So far, Koishi Komeiji is the only one who has noticed this change. Koishi knows that Satori is the glue that holds her world together. If she keeps shrinking, one day, she might disappear completely. If that happens, the world will end. Koishi was determined to find the cause and stop her from shrinking any further. She also hoped that somehow she'd be able to restore what Satori had already lost. The universe has a conscious mind that follows the known laws of physics and is formed and ordered by what is observable. However, it also has multiple unconscious minds that are governed by as-yet-unexplainable quandaries such as dark matter, the false vacuum, cosmic background radiation, the three-body problem, the P versus NP problem, and the spacetime singularity―the idea that the depths of a black hole is connected to other universes. If you somehow manage to pass through a black hole, you will arrive in another universe that neighbors your own in a dimension beyond the third, in other words, a past or future iteration of your universe. Fortunately, this Koishi is in tune with these unconscious minds, meaning she can manipulate them to teleport herself to other universes. However, she does this unconsciously, so she cannot choose her destination. You can calculate pi by randomly dropping a needle. So even though Koishi randomly drops herself somewhere in the multiverse, given enough drops, she will eventually find the cause of her sister's woes. Since she's a youkai, she assumed that time wouldn't be an issue. But she was wrong. Her friends and family began to forget her more and more with each new iteration of her home universe. Eventually, the space she had vacated was taken by a different Koishi Komeiji―a mysterious and seemingly unemotional Koishi from another universe who, with her white hair, white hat, and white dress, is reminiscent of a blank sheet of paper.
The Spread Shot of Koishi Komeiji from the buried city. She scans for her target with telepathic waves. Koishi gained control over the unconscious mind after she sealed away her mind-reading ability. This, coupled with her curiosity and habitual need to wander about seemingly at random, make her an excellent interworld explorer. Her sister has shrunk, and she's determined to find out why!
The Focus Shot of Koishi Komeiji from the buried city. She skips forward and traces out a love heart. This Koishi uses the power of her heart's impulses to cross over into other worlds. Interworld travel requires an exorbitant amount of energy, so there's a danger that this fuel might one day run out. What will she do then?
A Spell Card of Koishi Komeiji from the buried city. She opens up her mind as much as possible. Koishi can continue to unconsciously teleport to other worlds as long as her instincts provide her with power. Fortunately, the energy she expends is kept to a minimum because she doesn't consciously choose her destination. However, this also means that her destinations follow a standard distribution. It is highly unlikely that she will ever travel to the most distant probabilities.
A Spell Card of Koishi Komeiji from the buried city. She suppresses her mind as much as possible. Traveling to other worlds unconsciously is basically the same as traveling to former and future incarnations of the cosmos. Just as there are many interpretations of the past and future, reincarnation does not always follow a linear path from former incarnations to future ones. Traveling in this manner forces Koishi to take a labyrinthine route back and forth between worlds that is all but impossible to follow back home.
The Last Word of Koishi Komeiji from the buried city (a Touhou LW original). A Ruins of Memory attack. The Ruins of Memory appears to be a collection of memories that belong to some kind of higher being. Universes shouldn't normally have a conscious or unconscious mind, but the Ruins of Memory is so vast that it has become self-aware. This Koishi has discovered a sliver of this consciousness. However, it is yet to be seen whether this is the salvation she was searching for, as it appears to be driven by an all-consuming hunger for vengeance.
A good walking stick makes long journeys much more manageable. It also makes her look a bit like a Buddhist pilgrim.
If you're going on an adventure, you need a proper hat. Koishi's only complaint is that it messes up her hair.
It shines a light on things unseen. Koishi hasn't really found a use for it yet.
