Character Information

Temperament: Neppa
Neppa (a Touhou LW original) refers to a few days of continuous high temperatures. This is an apt temperament for Mokou, who took Kaguya up on her shady offer. Her temperament has changed in order for her to survive in the Crazed World. She has taken measures to protect against the sun's rays (strong against Sun Essence) and the heat (strong against Fire Phase). But it's believed these measures are more for Salamander than herself.
Ability/Backstory: Capable of avoiding old age and death (Crazed)
The ability of Fujiwara no Mokou, the racer (a Touhou LW original). In the world brimming with heat and madness, its denizens use ultra-long-distance races to determine the outcome of battles. Mokou's ability doesn't appear to have changed much, but the way in which she conducts battles of bullets has changed drastically. Mokou is one of the racers best suited for this world. In fact, she's THE best-suited. No matter how brutal the terrain, how scarce the resources, it's not a problem for a person of Hourai. Though she was once human and can, therefore, still feel pain, her will is unbreakable. It's harder than a Buddhist diamond. And thanks to the absurd specs of her beloved machine, Salamander, she doesn't have to worry about mechanical failure or running out of fuel. That only leaves one question... Is Salamander fast? In a word, yes! The reason she's entering this race is extremely simple. Her motivation is uncomplicated, so it's easier to maintain. This then translates into formidable mental fortitude. Her one, unwavering wish is to reclaim her mortality. That might sound strangely negative, but it's not. Mortals can't truly understand how an immortal being like her feels. For her to want to reclaim death also means she wants to reclaim life. A person of Hourai can't die. And for that very reason, they can't truly be called alive. So from her perspective, mortals are the lucky ones. She's finally put an end to her endless days of boredom, but that doesn't mean she's content with never dying. That kind of resignation would be unlike her and would only lead to more boredom. To become mortal again, to never forgive Kaguya's crime, to never forgive her own sins, and to live a fun life―her goal is to accomplish all these things simultaneously. That complex desire is simply incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't experienced immortality. Sadly for Mokou, Kaguya Houraisan, the ultimate femme fatale, will always be there to shatter her hopes. "Tough luck, Mokou. I won't let your wish come true!"

Attacks

Blazing Ride

The Spread Shot of Fujiwara no Mokou, the racer (a Touhou LW original). She speeds ahead, a blazing blur. On the surface, Eirin Yagokoro is the leader of Eientei, but Kaguya Houraisan is likely the one who gets final say. Eirin is arguably one of the wisest and, therefore, one of the most powerful people in Gensokyo. And yet, Kaguya is so captivating that she has devoted her eternal life to serving her. It almost seems like Kaguya has her under a spell, though the true nature of their bond is known only to themselves. Fujiwara no Mokou may be the only person immune to Kaguya's magical allure. She isn't blind to it, nor does she label it a wicked trick. It's as if she's simply ignoring it.

Flesh Ignition Coil

The Focus Shot of Fujiwara no Mokou, the racer (a Touhou LW original). She uses her own body to set her engine alight. Mokou's interest in Kaguya stems from the emotions she displays. It's almost certain that everything began with Kaguya's crime. Even so, Mokou's connection to her is not the same as those who are captivated by her charm. Eirin and the other residents of Eientei aren't necessarily blind to her faults, but they don't treat her the way Mokou does. When Kaguya does something infuriating, she gets angry. When Kaguya looks sad, she pities her. If they were both ordinary humans, that kind of dynamic would be the most natural thing in the world.

Eccentric Personage: Forewarning of Rider St. Germain

A Spell Card of Fujiwara no Mokou, the racer (a Touhou LW original). Helpful but nosy, the mysterious rider attacks. The feelings Mokou holds are deeply human. That might make them seem less significant, but they are undeniably her own. What do they mean to Kaguya, a princess fallen from the Moon? What do they mean to the fairy-tale Princess Kaguya? The answer is surely―wait, something's not right. However Kaguya feels about Mokou, there's no way she should've given her that crazy motorcycle!

Regretful Life: Safe Game of Chicken

A Spell Card of Fujiwara no Mokou, the racer (a Touhou LW original). She uses the ultimate move she developed as a yakitori vendor. The moment Mokou heard about a race where the winner's wish would be granted, she was in. She had lost something and wanted it back: the ability to die. It was worth a shot. But there was a problem. To enter, racers needed their own vehicle. Just as she was losing hope, Kaguya leaned over and whispered in her ear. "Tonight, when the Moon reaches its peak, a group of rabbits will pass by, carrying a motorcycle. It's yours. Do with it as you please." Mokou wasn't comfortable stealing, but when she approached the rabbits that night, they nodded and vanished. The motorcycle they left behind glimmered in the moonlight. Its name: Salamander.

Doomsday Bike-Owner Princess

The Last Word of Fujiwara no Mokou, the racer (a Touhou LW original). An attack that somehow makes it seem perfectly reasonable for a princess to own a motorcycle. The Fire Rat's Robe is its engine. The Buddha's Begging Bowl controls fuel input and power output. The Swallows' Cowrie repairs any and all damage. The Jeweled Branch of Hourai provides limitless fuel. All of these items are replicas, but they function just as well as the real things. With them, Kaguya's secret present to Mokou roars ahead. Perhaps one day Mokou will realize that even though it's a machine, Salamander is not so different from a person of Hourai.
