Story
"I hate humans. Dolls should only ever play with other dolls." Discarded by the humans who once owned her, the doll stirred to life as Medicine Melancholy. Flower poison is what brought her hollow little body to life, and the pain of it is what both drives and restrains her movements. She's still far too young to realize that this is no different from how a human body works.

Prolonged Incidents Some incidents come with a built-in time limit. Consider an incident that comes around just once every sixty years. By definition, it can't drag on for sixty years straight, and even stretching into a second year would run against everything that makes it what it is. In a case like that, a prolonged incident is thought to meddle with the flow of time itself. And since the way time moves in Gensokyo has always had its inexplicable quirks, it's entirely possible these incidents take advantage of them.

The Prolonged Sixty-Year Cycle Great Barrier Incident This incident comes around just once every sixty years. Phantoms who never made it across to Higan lingered behind, settling into the flowers and forcing them into a wild, out-of-season bloom. A doll isn't alive, so it should be immune to that sort of spiritual interference. Yet Medicine wound up under the influence of the phantoms, most likely because of the poison they carry. A vengeful spirit can be indistinguishable from volcanic poison gas, and in much the same way, Medicine may have simply mistaken the lingering, regretful phantoms in the flowers for poison and taken them in.

EX Beings An EX Being is one that carries the EX Factor. It's a type of Meta Factor, alongside other variants such as PH Factors.

Medicine Melancholy is a doll youkai born on Nameless Hill. Before she awoke as a youkai, she was just a doll abandoned on the hillside. However, she once had an owner. Someone must have cherished her. So why was she thrown away? Whatever the reason, does that make the person who abandoned her the villain? Did they simply toss her aside the moment she wasn't wanted anymore? No matter how long she dwells on it, she'll never know. Judging by the fact that she became a youkai at all, a good many years must have passed. Human lives are short―the time they spend as children, the time they spend living, all of it.
