Flandre Scarlet is a truly sheltered vampire, having spent around 495 years confined in the basement of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Dressed in an Easter outfit adorned with rabbit ears, she wields her magical Laevateinn. Said to be both a sword and a staff, this legendary weapon shifts its form as if it's somehow connected to the instability in her mind.
On this occasion, Flandre's desire was simple: to go outside and play freely like everyone else. Sunlight, of course, was an issue, but one that she managed to solve with a thick layer of sunscreen. The bigger issue was Sakuya, who believed it was too dangerous to allow Flandre to do as she pleased. Somehow, though, she managed to convince Sakuya that wasn't the case and successfully made her way out of the mansion.
However, before she knew it, she was face-to-face with the Sanzu River. The dark sky made her sunscreen a wasted effort, but before her was something far worse than sunlight―a vast body of flowing water stretching as far as her vampire eyes could see.
Sanzu River Egg Hunt
With the Sanzu River standing in the way of her long-awaited freedom, Flandre had an idea. She decided to destroy the river. At that moment, she was alone. There would be no witnesses. Without hesitation, she swung Laevateinn down upon the water's surface, unleashing a devastating blow.
Being such a large river, even Laevateinn's overwhelming power wasn't enough to destroy the Sanzu River outright. Instead, it merely sent a massive splash up into the air. With a torrent of river water about to rain down on her, Flandre turned each and every drop to steam before sighing in disappointment. Then, she let out a growl of frustration. But as cute as her growl may have been, in her heart was a pure, unrestrained desire for destruction. She felt she had no choice but to wipe the Sanzu River from the face of Gensokyo. And with the ability to destroy absolutely anything, she was surely capable of such a feat.
She could punch a hole through the riverbed. She could shatter the banks and let the waters flood away. She could even vaporize every last drop if she wanted to. On a whim, she could erase the Sanzu River―a place where so many fought and played. And the fact that she could make such a choice without hesitation was exactly why Flandre was known as a crazed vampire.
Once again, Laevateinn was about to strike the river... but something caught her eye. From the force of her previous blow, an egg had been sent tumbling onto dry land. A small rabbit quickly snatched it up, bouncing away with eager little hops. Flandre's lips curled into a playful grin.
"Wait up!" she cried, excitedly dashing after the rabbit. It was as if she had completely forgotten about destroying the Sanzu River despite having been so intent on doing so mere moments ago.
