Drinks at Hakurei Shrine

Mentioned Characters: Reimu, Hisami, Zanmu
Story
Zanmu Nippaku is a mysterious and enigmatic oni. Once a renegade monk who strayed from every path this world has to offer, she is now an oni who uses her intellect to rule over Hell. Having taken a liking to Reimu Hakurei, on this night, she dressed herself in a traditional red outfit from a foreign land and came for a drink at Hakurei Shrine. The fake mustache she had on originally seemed to have vanished, but she still intended to have as much fun as possible.

Hisami Yomotsu is Hell's beautiful stalker. She has an unrequited admiration for Zanmu, who she follows everywhere. It's said she knows Zanmu's schedule better than Zanmu does herself. On this night, she too was dressed differently from usual and had come to have some fun at Hakurei Shrine. Wearing a casual outfit to make the most of the festivities, she seemed wholly relaxed.

Reimu's two visitors from Hell arrived unannounced. Despite her surprise, she invited them in nonetheless. "Lady Zanmu, your glass is empty." "You never let it stay like that for long though." "How do you like this stuff?" "It's good. I can't believe it's homemade." Hisami's eyes were covered, but there's no doubt they sparkled with joy upon hearing Zanmu's kind words. As the two of them continued to make themselves at home, Reimu munched on a rice cracker, unsure where the night would take them.

New Year's Odyssey Recently, Zanmu organized a big party at Hakurei Shrine, drawing in a large crowd. Reimu, however, didn't contribute in the slightest to the party preparations and felt rather guilty about it. She felt letting them enjoy themselves tonight was the least she could do. She poured herself another glass of the "freshly pressed apple juice" they had received as a gift from the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Zanmu and Hisami had traveled all over Gensokyo while preparing for the big party, and this juice was one of the many gifts they'd received for their troubles. With another bottle almost empty, Reimu began to feel increasingly indebted to the pair of them.

Reimu was well aware of Hisami's constant pursuit of Zanmu, but today Hisami seemed to be in an especially good mood. Perhaps something had happened while the two of them were spreading the word about the big party. "I shall cherish this gift from you forever, Lady Zanmu." "Oh... yeah? Good to... hear." It seemed Hisami had received a gift of her own. She and Zanmu had invited all of Gensokyo to their party, not once failed to express their gratitude, and had now stopped by Hakurei Shrine for a drink. Reimu couldn't help but think that the denizens of Hell might have more of a human side than she'd given them credit for.
