Is that a giant pink mountain? No, it's a giant pink pile of fallen petals. Amid the endless field of blooming flowers, a lone girl sits quietly. Is she lost in thought? Or perhaps a moment of melancholy? It's impossible to know for sure.
This Shiki Eiki, Yamaxanadu hails from a world dyed in the colors of spring. As one of the academy's discipline officers, she shows no mercy to rule-breakers. The whip she carries is the weapon with which she dispenses punishments. Though her role may differ slightly from other Eikis, her commitment to justice and fairness remains.
The members of the Disciplinary Committee are constantly burdened with a wide range of duties. From handling minor administrative tasks to monitoring and rehabilitating rule-breakers, attending class assemblies, and participating in seasonal event meetings... Even someone as capable as Eiki can't keep up. When she feels herself getting fatigued, she quietly takes a rest. The flowery spot she's seated in now is one of her break spots.
In a flower garden draped in silence―
(It's always so peaceful here.)
Eiki calms her mind and begins to meditate.
(Once I get back, I need to sort through the paperwork and lecture those trouble-makers...)
She shakes her head, casting stray thoughts aside.
(No. I came here to rest, not think.)
She steadies her breathing, calming herself once more.
(...If only Komachi took her work more seriously. Urgh, why do I always end up getting distracted?!)
It seems her meditation isn't going quite as planned.
Once her mind starts ticking, the worries flow constantly in a stream she can't stop. Eiki lets out a small sigh, then lightly slaps herself on the cheek in an attempt to snap herself out of it. Above her, stretches an endless blue sky. Below, vibrant flowers bloom as far as the eye can see. Suddenly, her troubles begin to feel small and insignificant.
"OK, that'll do," she says, standing up to leave. She wasn't there long―no more than a few minutes―but even that short break was enough to bring a touch of peace to her heart.
