Lost Mountain

Story
Lost Shrine Moriya Shrine only came to Gensokyo relatively recently. However, since it became a thing of fantasy, it no longer exists in the outside world. The same goes for Sanae, the Moriya shrine maiden, wind priestess, and living god; Kanako, the official enshrined god, who accepts all their followers' faith; and Suwako, the true enshrined god, who supports their gathering of faith. None of them exist anymore.

Lost Memories Usually, when people suffer memory loss, as long as it isn't caused by physical damage to brain cells, their memories still exist somewhere. What they've actually lost is their knowledge of where those memories reside and the means to find them. That's why simple triggers can sometimes recall "lost" memories. However, Sanae, Kanako, and Suwako's memories will never return. Their memory loss was not caused by mundane means.

Lost Species Sanae, Kanako, and Suwako all think of themselves as ordinary humans even though, in truth, they aren't even human. They believe this because they do not have any special abilities and cannot fathom themselves as anything else. They're like ghosts clinging to their past lives so tightly that they've convinced themselves they're still living, breathing humans.

Lost Abilities Miracles, divine authority, and curses no longer exist. Everything occurs as it should, and for every cause, there is an appropriate effect. Laws, not gods, control the universe, and order is maintained through logic, not faith. Abilities are no longer special because they have been broken down, identified, and reproduced. Materialistic civilizations flourish as spiritual civilizations decline.

Lost Have you ever believed in gods? Have you ever prayed not for worldly gain or good luck but for true salvation? Have you ever thanked a god for their blessing? Have you ever felt a god beside you, played with them, and worked together for a common cause? These memories of a girl's youth can no longer be recalled. They have faded to white.
