Remilia Scarlet is a small devil mistress, delirious with endless summer. There was once a fixed path set out for her, but this Remilia was swept from it―not by the fierce tides of fate, but simply by the ocean current. She eventually found herself in the middle of the ocean, far from her Scarlet Devil Island home. But how exactly did she get there? To answer that, we must journey back in time... back before sunset.
"Sakuyaaa? Flaaan? I wanna see the sea," shouted Remilia, floating in the Scarlet Devil Mansion's pool atop her noble swim ring, Noble Heart.
"The sea, Lady Remilia?" said Sakuya. "If that is your wish, we can leave right away―"
"Not so fast, Big Sis," interrupted Flandre. "It's dangerous outside."
"Who cares? We vampires are tough," protested Remilia, puffing her cheeks out. But out of genuine concern for her big sister's safety, Flandre remained firm.
Unwilling to give up, Remilia waited until Flandre and Sakuya were distracted... then set her own plan into motion.
"If you won't take me there, I know who will. Go, gobs, go!" At Remilia's command, a gaggle of goblins popped their heads out from the pool.
"Big Sis, wait!" Before Flandre could react, the goblins hoisted Remilia and Noble Heart up and headed for the beach.
"The sea is so wonderful. Real waves are so much more powerful than splashes in a pool. You agree, right, Noble Heart?" Having given Sakuya and Flandre the slip, Remilia chatted happily to her trusty swim ring. With its eyes closed, Noble Heart said nothing in response. Just as Remilia was about to speak again, a voice called out from afar.
"Big Sis! You left one of your sandals behind!"
Looking back at the beach, Remilia saw Flandre waving a lone sandal in the air. Then, in a panic, she looked down at her own feet.
"That's one of my favorite sandals!" exclaimed Remilia, paddling her way back to shore. Flandre and Sakuya were there waiting for her, and instead of scolding her, they welcomed her back with a smile.
"I'm sorry, Big Sis," said Flandre. "I didn't realize how badly you wanted to see the sea."
"It's OK, Flan. Right now, I'm more concerned with whatever it is Sakuya's got. Is that some kinda weapon?"
"This is the bottle rocket Lady Patchouli gave me," replied Sakuya, holding up a clear plastic bottle adorned with devil wings. "She said she had it made at Kourindou on your request."
"Hmm, I must say, I like the design. How does it work?" Thoroughly intrigued, Remilia filled the bottle with water while Sakuya explained how to use it.
"Huh..." nodded Remilia. "And what does this button do?"
"That's the launch button―Mistress, wait!"
And so, Remilia was launched high into the air by the bottle rocket, and after crashing down into the sea, was swept away by the current. Before long, she found herself floating all alone in vast open waters, the Scarlet Devil Mansion a mere speck on the horizon.
"To think that little rocket would be so powerful..." Remilia murmured in a daze. Still, she wasn't particularly worried. With its flowing waters, the sea wasn't a safe place for a vampire, but luckily, she was riding Noble Heart. And if push came to shove, she could always fly back to shore. So for the time being, she decided to enjoy her barley tea and the calming ocean view. The tranquility was soon broken, though, by two familiar voices calling out from above.
"Big Siiiiis!"
"Mistress, are you all right?!"
Remilia looked up to see Flandre and Sakuya soaring toward her. It seemed her and Noble Heart's ocean adventure was at its end.
