Over Shut-In

Mentioned Characters: Reimu, Flandre
Story
"Hey, little kitty spirits. I wonder how you got into the mansion... Ah, who cares?!" Flandre Scarlet had been tipped toward insanity. Apparently, cats release a mysterious substance that causes madness in humans. And if that's true, cat spirits might have a similar effect on youkai. Surely that shouldn't be allowed though, right? ...Right?!

Prolonged Incidents Some incidents fail to end when they're supposed to. The idea that an incident would have a scheduled ending might sound strange. But in truth, everything is built with a fixed endpoint (except for the people of Hourai). The one causing the incident, the one resolving it, the one overseeing the whole situation... The details vary, but most incidents operate within a predetermined time frame. Which is why one of them dragging on is so abnormal.

The Prolonged Animal Spirit Invasion It all started when animal spirits poured into Gensokyo. Since they came from Higan, Reimu and the others set off for Hell in search of answers. What they found were intertwined schemes and hidden agendas. Some of you may know what unfolded from there. But what happened in Gensokyo while they were gone? The invading animal spirits were busy searching for places to settle down. They were planning to stay in Gensokyo, so naturally, they wanted somewhere comfortable. But animal spirits are still animal in nature. Certain species consider more than mere comfort. Cat spirits, especially, are notoriously picky about where they make their homes. The housecat spirits among them seemingly decided that the Scarlet Devil Mansion would do.

EX Beings Apparently, the "EX" stands for "Extended." You'd think the name comes from the fact that prolonged incidents are extended beyond the original timeline. But for now, there's no proof.

Flandre Scarlet is a vampire and the devil's younger sister. Right after she was born, she was shut away in her room and didn't leave for 495 years. It's hard to even imagine. No sane human could endure living in such a cramped space for that long. But what about a cat? Whether cats shouldn't go outside or simply don't need to is still debated. But these days, indoor housecats are commonplace. A narrow room might feel suffocating to a human, but to a housecat, it can be more than enough. Once the door closes, no one really knows what goes on inside. After all, cat houses never come with cameras installed, do they?
