Cirno is an energetic fairy who exudes an aura of cold. She lives near the Misty Lake and is the de facto leader of the fairies. However, unlike other fairies, she has been known to try and resolve incidents. Lately, she's been playing a lot with Wakasagihime.
Wakasagihime is a mermaid who can often be seen swimming in the Misty Lake. She has a kind and gentle soul, and spends most of her time singing or collecting pretty stones from the lakebed. The humans don't see her as much of a threat. Lately, she's been playing a lot with Cirno.
"Wakasagihimeeee! You there?!" Cirno's voice echoed across the lake.
"Wakasagihimeeeee!" On her second shout, she received a happy "Cirno" in response as Wakasagihime poked her head up out of the water.
"I'm right here. You don't have to shout so loud." With a sweep of her beautiful tail, she hopped up onto the shore next to Cirno.
Reunited with her friend, Cirno boasted about all the battles of bullets she had fought that day. As was usually the case, the ever-chatty Cirno did most of the talking as Wakasagihime listened, smiling all the while.
"I'm the STRONGEST, so every battle was super close and fun!"
"Wow, you really are strong, Cirno," Wakasagihime happily praised her.
Then, worried about her friend, she asked in a softer voice, "But you didn't get hurt or anything, did you?"
"No, I'm fine, but..." Cirno's voice trailed off as she looked like she was about to cry. Holding back her tears, she explained how she found a pretty stone that morning. But she lost it while she was battling.
After hearing Cirno's tale, Wakasagihime pulled something out of her obi. "Is this the stone you lost?"
Wakasagihime just happened to find it while she was swimming. Thanking Wakasagihime, Cirno took the stone and held it up to the sky. Her eyes lit up. "This is it! Let's collect a bunch of 'em to make a necklace!"
"Great idea. I'd love to see you wearing a necklace."
"Yeah, I bet I'd look really cool!"
Immediately after Cirno said that, her face scrunched up in thought. She realized that this pretty stone would really suit Wakasagihime. Then it hit her. They should make matching necklaces.
"I've just had an even better idea!"
"What is it?"
"It's gonna be super fun!"
Cirno and Wakasagihime spent the next few days searching for stones together. And when the two necklaces were complete, they sparkled like the water on the lake.
