Sentimental Signals

Mentioned Characters: Reimu, Marisa, Miko
Story
"Please take me with you. I want to go there, too. To the eternal paradise―the land called Gensokyo." Toyosatomimi no Miko is King Shoutoku and my father... but perhaps I can only say that about the one spoken of in outside-world texts. How much do you know? From which version of history do you know my father?

King Shoutoku, the All-Powerful Taoist Two types of data exist―true data and false data. It is believed that true data contains the true version of history. In this history, Toyosatomimi no Miko has a battle of bullets with Reimu and Marisa and later becomes a very powerful and highly influential figure in Gensokyo. There isn't much mention of people, or indeed Miko herself, calling Miko "King Shoutoku" or an "All-Powerful Taoist." In fact, these titles only seem to appear in texts written about her. Indirect references like these are sometimes labeled secondary true data to differentiate them.

King Umayado It is believed that a person named King Umayado (or Prince Umayado) actually existed. However, unlike the true data listed earlier, it would be a mistake to assume this is a historical fact. The history of Gensokyo is not the same as the history of the outside world. Sometimes, things that are believed to be true in the outside world are claimed to be false in Gensokyo. That's why interpretations of history that originate from the outside world have their own separate category―outside data.

Prince of Ikaruga The opposite of true data is false data. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that false data has no historical value. By comparing false data to other historical records, you can glean a more rounded picture of what it was like to live during that time. Some scholars also study false duty for its significance as a work of fiction.

Divine Spirit Mausoleum What is the ultimate fate that awaits those who seek knowledge? What happens to someone after they learn everything there is to learn and accept everything there is to accept? A prince and administrator who lived in the age between history and myth was determined to find out. She took action and tried to circumvent her own death. Was that a mistake? Or was she content with becoming a thing of fantasy? Regardless, she will not look back. She cannot. Only once she passes beyond the final second will she reunite with the people she wilfully abandoned. One day, they will meet again in Gensokyo... because just as Toyosatomimi no Miko forsook them, she has also been forsaken by the world.
