Though she lives in Heaven high above the clouds, life there is so unbearably dull that she often sneaks down to the lower world just to cause a little chaos. In the midst of one such bout of boredom, she was approached by the gap youkai Yukari Yakumo, who made an unusually polite request. Tenshi accepted and now serves as her shikigami.

"Well, I got down here just fine, but..." Tenshi Hinanawi stood before the still-intact Hakurei Shrine. She wasn't sure what to do next. She had escaped the unbearable boredom of Heaven, but that didn't mean excitement would just fall into her lap the moment she arrived on Earth. With nothing better to do, she muttered to herself, unsure of her next move. That was when a familiar, greater youkai appeared before her. "I have a favor to ask... Would you be willing to hear me out?"

There was a time when Tenshi sneered at Yukari Yakumo, calling her a youkai fit only to crawl on Earth, and Yukari shot back with insults of her own, telling her to begone from Earth. But now, for the strange purpose of looking after a certain girl, Tenshi had joined hands with that same insolent, beautiful youkai. Through some mysterious orb, Tenshi was now serving Yukari as a kind of pseudo-shikigami. Even though Yukari was her master, their relationship was still equal at its core, which made Yukari lowering herself to ask for a favor all the more unusual. "Fine, I'll listen... So what exactly do you want?" "I need you to visit... a somewhat unusual place, and resolve a certain issue."

"So where exactly is this unusual place?" "Somewhere beyond a gap. It doesn't even have a proper name yet." When Tenshi pressed her for details, Yukari answered with a bold smile. Yukari's uncharacteristically polite request had been enough to convince her in the moment, but now it felt like she'd been sent straight into something far more dangerous than she'd signed up for. Just as she was about to voice her complaints, a voice echoed from nowhere. "Rest assured. You're exactly where you need to be." "Am I now?" "Yes. As a special pseudo-shikigami, I'd like you to confront the threat present there." Yukari's voice was calm and unwavering.
