The Misfortune Cleaner!

Mentioned Characters: Nitori, Hina
Story
Nitori Kawashiro is a businesswoman and Gensokyo's No.1 inventor. Today, she was taking a stroll along the Genbu Ravine's river that flows at the foot of the Youkai Mountain. Nitori was on her way to see her friend, Hina Kagiyama, and give her a gift―a brand-new invention.

Hina Kagiyama is a misfortune god who gathers the misfortune of others. Since this ability is beneficial to humans, they're extremely fond of Hina. However, due to the sheer amount of misfortune she gathers, anyone who gets too close to her is inevitably affected. Today, though, it seems someone willingly paid her a visit.

Hina is kindhearted and friendly but is avoided by others because she's a misfortune god. It seems when she learned about Hina's situation, Nitori was so upset she began work on a new invention, one that perfectly cleanses an area of any misfortune. Nitori smiled as she explained to Hina how her latest creation worked. Hina, meanwhile, listened closely with a somewhat strange expression on her face.

Hina's purpose in life is to collect misfortune and pass it on to the gods. This task is also the source of her power. So Nitori's new invention, the Misfortune Cleaner, appeared before Hina as a double-edged sword. But since Nitori came all this way to give it to her, Hina couldn't simply turn it down. As she racked her brain for a way out of this situation, Nitori's enthusiasm reached its peak!

There was a satisfying click from the Misfortune Cleaner, and in an instant, all the misfortune around Nitori and Hina disappeared, and the gloomy skies turned clear. Hina worked hard collecting all that misfortune, and now she'd have to do it again... but seeing Nitori's beaming smile under the crystal blue sky, she couldn't help but smile back. "Thanks, Nitori," she said.
