Flandre Scarlet is the younger vampire sister who, for centuries, locked herself in the basement of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Believing that she didn't need to go to school to learn, she spent the past 495 years studying in her room. However, she decided it wasn't fair that her sister was out making friends without her, so she enrolled at Hakurei Shrine Academy.
Lily White is the fairy who heralds the arrival of spring. She used to notice even the smallest changes that normal people would overlook and be the first to let everyone know that spring had come. However, in this world, it's spring all year round. With the cycle of spring, summer, autumn, and winter having been replaced with spring, spring, spring, and spring, she is both delighted and troubled as she does her duty as the Fairy Herald of Spring. Lately, to bring a little more variety to her daily life, she has started watching over the students attending Hakurei Shrine Academy.
"So sleepy..." Flandre Scarlet lay in bed, her eyes barely open. She may be a vampire, but she's not particularly prone to oversleeping. She can wake up whenever she feels like it and is free to venture out of the mansion. It just so happens that, for 495 years, there wasn't anything she wanted to do outside. "Guess I should get up and go to school..." she groaned. Flan dragged herself out of bed, picked up her favorite ribbon, and slipped into her pink uniform. Then, with a sudden burst of enthusiasm, she exclaimed, "I can't wait to see Koishi!" and dashed out of her room.
Vibrant Sister of the Devil
Flan hummed a happy tune to herself as she skipped along the path to school. With not far left to go, a voice suddenly called out to her.
"Flan, it's spring!" chirped none other than Lily White. Flan tilted her head curiously.
"But it's always spring."
"Ugh... well, that's true, but..."
In this world, it's spring all year round. Unsurprisingly, Lily was a little perplexed as to how that affected her duties as Fairy Herald of Spring.
"Thanks for letting me know, though!" smiled Flan. "I really love spring. It makes everything feel so bright and happy!"
"I knew you'd get it, Flan!" squealed Lily, her face lighting up with a smile of her own. "Ah, look over there!"
"Is that... Miss Remilia?" Looking where Lily White pointed, Flan saw a familiar figure standing in front of the school gate.
"Ah, you're right, it's my sister!" she exclaimed. Flan waved at her, but Remilia didn't react.
"Looks like she hasn't noticed us..." said Lily as Flan puffed out her cheeks in frustration.
"Maybe she'd notice us if I smashed the gate down."
"I-I think she would... but why don't we try something else first?!"
"Like sneaking up behind her and giving her a scare?"
"Yes, that sounds nice and safe! I'll go distract her!" With that, Lily floated off toward Remilia.
"I wonder what kind of face she'll make!" said Flan with unmistakable giddiness.
Right then and there, Flan couldn't have been happier with her decision to get out of bed that morning.
